Marhaba! Here in the Northeast region of the United States, we are witnessing a historic snow blizzard. From tons and tons of storm alerts to long waits at the supermarkets to purchase goods, we’re all getting ready to witness one of mother nature’s biggest blizzards ever! Speaking of snow blizzards and feet of piled snow, what better activity than snowball fights and making a snowman? Well, given the amount of snow all around and that it’s never too late to discuss hit songs and number one singles, especially when a song is translated and dubbed into over 40 languages and dialects worldwide, how about we learn a song? I am sure most of you know it already: Let It Go from the animated best selling movie by Disney called Frozen. I think it’s appropriate for the weather today and for all you Arabic lovers out there! You might have come across the song in different languages already and today I am sharing the song in Arabic with the song lyrics so that you can sing along and more importantly improve your pronunciation in Arabic!! Please note that some parts of the lyrics in the Arabic version of “Let It Go” are not perfect translations of the English version; however, they capture the essence of the lyrics in English.

Salam everyone! Born as an American to two originally Arab parents, I have been raised and have spent most of my life in Beirut, Lebanon. I have lived my good times and my bad times in Beirut. I was but a young child when I had to learn to share my toys and food with others as we hid from bombs and fighting during the Lebanese Civil War. I feel my connection to Arabic as both a language and culture is severing and so it is with you, my readers and fellow Arabic lovers, and through you that I wish to reestablish this connection by creating one for you.
