These days, people are using emojis more and more to communicate. They’re fun, cute, and very easy to use. Look on social media or in your text messages, and you’ll probably see a whole lot of emojis. With Christmas approaching, there are a few you can use for the holiday. Let’s practice English and learn a bit about Christmas with the help of our beloved emojis.

Christmas Vocabulary Through Emojis

First, you can study some Christmas vocabulary. Here are 12 Christmas words along with their associated emoji to help you remember them:

Reading Activity

Now that you’ve studied the words, try to do this reading activity. In place of the emoji, say the Christmas word that you learned.

Practice reading those sentences a few times once you’re sure you’ve got the right emoji. Then, do your best to talk or write about Christmas without looking at any of the words. Hopefully the visual image of the emoji will help you remember the words more easily.
