The simple future is used to express an action which occurs only once in the future. It is formed with the particle θα (tha) = will plus the verb. The most of the verbs change their form when they are used to form the future tense. Few of the do not change their form. The verbs have the same characteristics as the verbs which form the simple past. So, it will be useful for you to refer to the past tense post .

Verbs with the same form in the future tense.

Ex:

Θα είμαι (tha eeme)	I will be
Θα έχω (tha eho)	I will have
Θα ξέρω (tha xero)	I will know
Θα πάω (tha pao)	I will go

Verbs with the different form in the future tense

1st Conjugation:

Verbs which end in: -νω, -ζω, θω, like :

Ετοιμάζω, πείθω, ζωγραφίζω.

Ex. Κλείνω = to close

Θα κλείσω	I will close	Tha kleeso
Θα κλείσεις	you will close	Tha kleesies
Θα κλείσει	He,she,it will close	Tha kleesee
Θα κλείσουμε	We will close	Tha kleesoyme
Θα κλείσετε	You will close	Tha kleesete
Θα κλείσουν	They will close	Tha kleesoyn

Verbs which end in: -πω, -βω,-φω,-εύω,-αύω, like:

γιατρεύω, βάφω, ιππεύω, κρύβω.

Ex. Κόβω = to cut

Θα κόψω	I will cut	Tha kopso
Θα κόψεις	you will cut	Tha kopsies
Θα κόψει	He,she,it will cut	Tha kopsee
Θα κόψουμε	We will cut	Tha kopsoyme
Θα κόψετε	You will cut	Tha kopsete
Θα κόψουν	They will cut	Tha kopsoyn

Verbs which end in: -κω, -γω,-χω,-σκω,-γνω,-ζω like:

διδάσκω, παίζω, ρίχνω, ανοίγω.

Ex. αγγίζω = to touch

Θα αγγίξω	I will touch	Tha agikso
Θα αγγίξεις	you will touch	Tha agiksies
Θα αγγίξει	He,she,it will touch	Tha agiksee
Θα αγγίξουμε	We will touch	Tha agiksoyme
Θα αγγίξετε	You will touch	Tha agiksete
Θα αγγίξουν	They will touch	Tha agiksoyn
