Poem in Hindi – Yeh Diya Bujhe Nahi Posted by on Jun 28, 2012 in Hindi Language

Today, I will present you a very nice poem from the pre-independence times of India.

This poem is very emotional which ask the people to keep the struggle alive for independence. The poet has animated this struggle of independence as a lamp.

Hope, you will try to comprehend the poem with the above given explanation. So, let us begin.

(Yeh Diya Bujhe Nahi – Don’t let this lamp extinguish)
(Gopal Singh Nepali)

This lamp should not extinguish

May there be much darkness,
May there be blowing winds.

Today, on every house-door, this lamp should not extinguish
this night’s lamp is bringing the dawn.

Given by the power,
given to the power,
given with the devotion,
this lamp of independence.

the boat should not stop,
may the drift force is strong.

Today, the lamp should not extinguish on the course of Ganges water,
this lamp of motherland is like life.

This past imagination,
this humble prayer,
this sacramental emotion,
this endless practice.

Be peace or unrest,
war, treaty or revolution.

On arrow or alluvium, this lamp should not extiniguish,
on country or society, this is the canopy of light.

There is three-four flowers,
there is dust nearby,
Bamboo is there, the Acacia,
and cambric of grass.

May this air surge it,
whiff it or square it.

On graves or shrine, this lamp should not extinguish,
this is a donation of sacred life of a martyr.

Every bouncing raindrop,
every kissing lighting
is starting the sandstorms,
is making the movements.

The motherland should be fighting,
agony should be special,
on small victory or defeat, this lamp should not extinguish,
this is the independence song of the independent emotions.
