Ancora can be translated as: yet, more, again and still. Let’s have a look at a few examples of each of these translations … and a beautiful song.

Marco non è ancora arrivato a casa = Marco hasn’t got home yet
non hai ancora finito di aggiustare la macchina? =haven’t you finished fixing the car yet?

2. more

vuoi ancora delle lasagne = would you like some more lasagna
ce n’è ancora? =is there some more of it?

3. again

maledizione, ancora una volta il cellulare è scarico = damn, my cell phone has no power once again
non ho voglia di tornarci ancora = I don’t feel like going back there again

4. still

sono ancora qui = I’m still here
