How to tell location in Japanese – Part 2

Part2 of this series is all about the details. If someone asks you, “Where is the bank?”, would you know how to respond to the question? If the bank is located right in front of your eyes, it is easy to point to the direction even though you won’t say a word… but what if the bank is 5 minutes away from where you are? Below, I have created various answers to this so you can learn how to let someone know the direction in different ways depending on your own situation.  Read on~.

Where is the bank? – Ginko wa doko desuka?

Answer 1: It’s right in the front. – Meno mae desuyo.

Answer 2:   2nd building on this street. – Kono to-ri no niban me no biru desu.

Answer 3:  Turn right at the next street. It’s the 1st building on your left. – Tsugi no to-ri o migini magatte, hidarigawano ichiban me no biru desu.

Answer 4: Bank is located across the street. – Ginko wa michi no mukou gawa ni arimasu.

Answer 5: It’s the 2nd building from the left. – Hidarikara Ni ban meno biru desu.

Answer 6: Bank is on the next street. – Ginko wa tsugino to-ri ni arimasu.

Answer 7: It’s the last building on your right. – Migi gawa no ichiban saigo no biru desu.

As you can imagine, there are many ways of describing a location for a building. However, these are sort  of the basic ways of telling the location. Hope you learned some useful tips on location!
