    These are really usefule, especially the kanji and hiragana included.

    I hate to be the grammer nazi but the desu- masu- polite form should not be included, like in the “I will be late” example. Plus, sorry grammar nazi again, you would include a gomen ne after your being late to make it sound more natural.

    Sorry, your info is great.

      @Greg Hi Greg,

      Thanks for your comments! I appreciate that you are giving me your opinion, and you are correct in that between friends, we don’t normally use desu, masu too often, but occasionally, when you are being polite with him/her, we could use desu masu. This will be more common in writing such as emails or text, and maybe not so much when you are actually talking to them. If I am talking to my friend, letting him/her know that I will be late, I would say, “Gomenne, chotto okureru. (ごめんね。ちょっとおくれる。) -sorry I will be late a bit. ” But in texting, I would probably text him/her, “Gomenne chotto okuremasu. (ごめんね ちょっとおくれます。)”. When it comes to writing/texting, we often use more polite form.

      Hope this helps! 🙂
