What’s New in Transparent Language 2.0 Posted by on Nov 7, 2016 in Archived Posts

Learning a language is hard—making the most of your language learning tools shouldn’t be.

Transparent Language Online 2.0 is all about making your life easier, so you can spend less time clicking around and more time learning.

  • We know that trying to remember words and phrases in a new language is hard enough – why have to remember where you left off, too? Transparent Language Online will now remember where you left off in your last learning session, prompting you to pick up at the next unfinished activity when you sign in, so you can get right back to learning.resume-learning
  • For those ambitious enough to learn multiple languages at once, you can now easily toggle between 10 saved languages. Transparent Language Online will remember which languages you most recently accessed and add them to your language dropdown menu.
  • These features make it easier to keep learning new things, but what about the old stuff? You can now opt in to new daily email reminders for stale items. Our algorithm will automatically determine which words and phrases you’re at risk of forgetting—a quick click from the email will take you to a refresher activity, ensuring you don’t lose what you’ve worked so hard for!tlo-email-reminder
  • Of course… not everything should be easy. Teachers can now turn on Hard Mode for their students, removing the “accept as correct” button in writing activities and the “next” button in self-reporting activities. (These buttons are still available for individual learners with personal subscriptions.)
  • We’re very proud of these system updates, but we know technology and online learning can be a fickle beast. That’s why we’ve added a support widget (for both users and instructors) so you can easily direct any problems, questions, or feedback to the team here in our office.support-widget

We’re continuously improving Transparent Language Online with new features (like the iPad app and new Practice Activities) and content (like the Conversations in English, French Elementary, and Word of the Day courses). Stay tuned to this space for more announcements and don’t hesitate to leave any requests in the comments!
