Grace before meal? Posted by on Jul 26, 2011 in Culture, Religion, Vocabulary

Some people say grace before meal  (modlitwa przed jedzeniem). If it a tradition in your home I wanted to share with you few different prayers you can say.

Drogi Panie Jezu,

siądź przy stole z nami,

jak kiedyś siadałeś

ze swymi uczniami.

Pobłogosław nas

i te wszystkie dary,

za które dzięki

składamy bez miary.

Niechaj wszyscy głodni

znajdą pożywienie,

a ci, co odeszli,

osiągną zbawienie.

Amen.

Pobłogosław, Panie Boże, nas.

Pobłogosław ten posiłek,

tych, którzy go przygotowali.

I naucz nas dzielić się chlebem i radością

ze wszystkimi.

Amen

Panie Jezu Chryste,

zasiądź między nami,

udziel nam radości

Twego Narodzenia

niech się okażemy Twoimi uczniami,

a stół nasz niech będzie

znakiem pojednania. Amen.

Panie Jezu, nasze Słonko,

pobłogosław to jedzonko.

Amen

Below there is a video with pronunciation.

Do następnego razu… (Till next time…)

My name is Kasia Scontsas. I grew near Lublin, Poland and moved to Warsaw to study International Business. I have passion for languages: any languages! Currently I live in New Hampshire. I enjoy skiing, kayaking, biking and paddle boarding. My husband speaks a little Polish, but our daughters are fluent in it! I wanted to make sure that they can communicate with their Polish relatives in our native language. Teaching them Polish since they were born was the best thing I could have given them! I have been writing about learning Polish language and culture for Transparent Language’s Polish Blog since 2010.
