Happy Mother’s Day! Dzień Matki Posted by on May 9, 2015 in Holidays, Poetry

Even though Mother’s Day in Poland is celebrated on May 26th, in USA is celebrated tomorrow. That’s why I decided to post few different things you may wish to your mother on this day in Polish!

Dzień Matki

Mother’s Day

W kalendarzu Święto Matki
z życzeniami śpieszą dziatki.
Ja Ci mamo dziś w podzięce
za Twe trudy daję serce
i przepraszam za me psoty,
za wybryki i kłopoty.

Mother’s Day in the calendar
Little ones hurry with wishes
Today Mom in gratitude
for your labors I give heart
and I’m sorry for my pranks,
for pranks and trouble.

Choć serduszko moje małe,
Tobie dziś oddaje całe.
byś na zawsze pamiętała
I podziękę moją znała.
Za to wszystko coś zrobiła,
Za to żeś mnie urodziła,
I że byłaś mą ostoją,
Za to żeś jest matką moją.
Ślę życzenia a nie kwiatki
Oraz miłość na Dzień Matki.

Although my heart is little ,
Today I give you a whole heart.
so you always remember
And know that I’m thankful.
For all you did,
For you giving me life,
And that you were my mainstay,
For you being my mother
I send greetings instead of flowers
And love on Mother’s Day.

Z okazji Twego święta, Mamo
życzę Ci zdrowia, sił i codziennej radości
wraz ze słowami największej wdzięczności.
Za wszystkie dla mnie trudy i starania
składam Ci dzisiaj podziękowania.

On your day, Mom
I wish you health, strength and joy daily
along with the words of the greatest gratitude.
For all hardships and efforts you did
I give you thanks today

Mamo podaj rękę, niech ją ucałuję.
Dziś jest Twoje Święto – serdecznie winszuję.
Żyj mi mamo zdrowa, szczęśliwa, wesoła,
niech Ci żadna troska nie zasmuci czoła.
Niech Ci wszystko wokół radośnie się plecie.
Kocham Cię, ach kocham nad wszystko na świecie.

Mom, give a hand, let me kiss it.
Today is Your Day – heartily congratulate.
Live healthy, happy, cheerful,
May no concerns upset your forehead.
May everything around you happily come together.
I love you, oh I love you above everything in the world.

Do następnego razu… (Till next time…)

My name is Kasia Scontsas. I grew up in Lublin, Poland and moved to Warsaw to study International Business. I have passion for languages: any languages! Currently I live in New Hampshire. I enjoy skiing, kayaking, biking and paddle boarding. My husband speaks a little Polish, but our daughters are fluent in it! I wanted to make sure that they can communicate with their Polish relatives in our native language. Teaching them Polish since they were born was the best thing I could have given them! I have been writing about learning Polish language and culture for Transparent Language’s Polish Blog since 2010.

hello, thank you for your wonderful greetings for Mother’s Day. If you don’t mind, I would like to make some suggestions about your English post. “I have a passion for languages” , “they can communicate with their Polish relatives”, “since they were born”.
I hope this helps. Have a nice day
