O Stworzycielu Duchu przyjdź…. Posted by on Feb 22, 2017 in Religion, Vocabulary

One of our readers, Beata, asked if I could translate this song for her. Beata, I hope you are reading this, because this post is for you 🙂

Arka Noego, “O Stworzycielu Duchu przyjdź”

1. O Stworzycielu Duchu przyjdź,
Nawiedź dusz wiernych Tobie krąg,
Niebieską łaskę zesłać racz
Sercom, co dziełem są Twych rąk.

2. Pocieszycielem jesteś zwan,
I Najwyższego Boga dar,
Tyś namaszczeniem naszych dusz,
Zdrój żywy, miłość ognia żar.

3. Światłem rozjaśnij naszą myśl,
W serca nam miłość świętą wlej,
I wątłą słabość naszych ciał,
Pokrzep stałością mocy swej.

4. Daj nam przez Ciebie Ojca znać,
Daj, by i Syn poznany był,
I Ciebie jedno Tchnienie Dwóch,
Niech wyznajemy z wszystkich sił.

Noah’s Ark, “Oh our Creator, Spirit come”

Oh our Creator, Spirit come
Haunt the loop of the faithful to You
Deign to send the blue mercy
To hearts, which are the work of Thy hands

You are called the Comforter
And the supreme God’s gift
You’re the embrocation for our souls
Living waters, the glow of love fire

Light up our mind with Thy light
Pour the holy love in our hearts
Refresh the frail weakness of our bodies
With Your stable power

Let us know Your Father
Let us so we can know His Son
And let us worship You – One Breath of Two
With might and main

My name is Kasia Scontsas. I grew near Lublin, Poland and moved to Warsaw to study International Business. I have passion for languages: any languages! Currently I live in New Hampshire. I enjoy skiing, kayaking, biking and paddle boarding. My husband speaks a little Polish, but our daughters are fluent in it! I wanted to make sure that they can communicate with their Polish relatives in our native language. Teaching them Polish since they were born was the best thing I could have given them! I have been writing about learning Polish language and culture for Transparent Language’s Polish Blog since 2010.

  1. Henryk:

    Kasia,
Thank you for your columns. I always find them most interesting. However this one contains a most unfortunate translation. I suggest that “blue mercy” is actually “heavenly mercy”.
    Kind regards,
    Henryk
