Oi, pessoal! Como passaram as festas? Espero que tenham se divertido.

We’re going to kick off 2012 with Internet vocabulary in Portuguese. There are a lot of English terms in Internet vocabulary in Portuguese so I have chosen the ones that have a Portuguese form.

Vamos lá!

A grande rede mundial de computadores = World Wide Web (www)
Arroba = at (@)
Ponto = dot
Digitar = to type in
Destinatário = recipient
Mandar um e-mail, enviar por e-mail = to e-mail
Acessar a internet, entrar na internet = to log onto the internet
Senha = password
Página inicial, home page = home page
Cyber café, lan house = cyber café
Navegar, surfar na internet = to surf the internet
Site de busca = search engine
Baixar = to download
Salvar = to save
Backup = a backup copy
Fazer backup = to back up
Deletar = to delete
Programa antivírus = antivirus software
Fazer um upgrade, atualizar = to upgrade
Upgrade, atualização = an upgrade
Planilha = spreadsheet
Imprimir = to print out
Cópia impressa = a printout
Spam, lixo eletrônico = spam
Hacker = hacker
Webdesigner = webdesigner
Webmaster = webmaster
Laptop, notebook = laptop, notebook
