This is a favorite language learning activity, so I thought we’d give it a shot. Copy and paste the lyrics into Word, and then play the video. Listen to the song and follow the lyrics, and fill in the blanks with the correct word.

I recently found out about a site where you can do this activity with many, many songs!
[vagalume.uol.com.br]. At the site, you can choose a song with the lyrics displayed. The site tries to locate a youtube video of the song. You can then choose “complete” which replaces the complete lyrics with a fill-in-the-blanks version like Rachel has posted above. While you play the recording, you type in the missing words — if you’re correct, the color changes from red to green. It might get a bit frustrating if you don’t get the accent marks just right, especially with slang, but it’s still a pretty amazing tool.
