¡Hola! ¿Qué tal?

Today we are going to practice how to manage when travelling in a Spanish speaking country. We will see some useful related vocabulary and some typical sentence structures and phrases that can be used when doing such things as buying tickets and asking prices in Spanish.

Answers to all tasks involved in this lesson will be given at the end of the post and you can also follow a link with this post to watch the original theory video lesson on the same topic.

Speaking Spanish when travelling

1. First let´s see if you understand this basic Spanish travelling vocabulary:

– Billete de ida y vuelta
– Taquilla
– Salir
– Reservar
– Día
– Bono
– Plaza
– Llegar

2. Now, let´s translate some words from English to Spanish:

– Single ticket
– Transport
– Price
– Information
– Ticket office
– To arrive
– To leave
– To book

3. Let´s see next if you know what these sentences in Spanish mean:

– ¿Cuánto cuesta un billete de ida y vuelta de Bilbao a Sevilla?
– Necesito información sobre el tren de Madrid a Sevilla
– Quiero un billete de ida y vuelta de Madrid a Sevilla
– ¿Para qué día?
– Aquí tiene

4. Finally, please translate these sentences from English to Spanish:

– We need information about the train from Madrid to Sevilla
– At what time does the train from Madrid to Barcelona arrive?
– Can I book a seat?
– How much is it?
– For what day?
– Here you are

This is all the practice for today.

I hope you remember all, or at least, most of it. When you travel to a Spanish speaking country all of the vocabulary and sentences will come in very useful. If you don´t feel confident at first, I recommend you watch the original video lesson a few times and try again with this practice lesson afterwards.
