Beginner Spanish Review Lesson 29 Spanish indefinite pronouns and adjectives Posted by on May 27, 2013 in Learning, Spanish Grammar, Spanish Vocabulary, Videos

Hola ¿Qué tal?

Today we are going to practice Spanish indefinite pronouns and adjectives. These are essential Spanish words such as some, any, something, and anything.

Answers to all tasks involved in this lesson will be given at the end of the post and you can also follow a link with this post to watch the original theory video lesson on the same topic.

To go back and watch the original video lesson please follow this link:

Spanish indefinite pronouns and adjectives

1. First let’s review the Spanish indefinite pronouns algo, nada, alguien, and nadie along with the Spanish adverb nunca. Do you know what these sentences mean?

¿Quieres algo?
No veo nada.
Nadie quiere ir a la playa.
¿Alguien sabe dónde está Antonio?

2. Next, I would like you to translate to Spanish the following sentences using the Spanish words algo, nada, alguien, nadie and nunca:

I don´t know anything.
Does anybody have a pen?
My sister always buys something for me.
We don´t understand anybody.

3. Now let´s see if you know how to use algún, alguno, algunos and the feminine and negative forms. Can you tell me what these sentences mean?

¿Tienes algún libro de cocina?
No, no tengo ninguno.
¿Tienes alguna amiga española?
Sí, tengo algunas.
¿Tienes algún refresco?
No, no tengo ninguno.

4. Please, translate the following from English to Spanish:

Have you got any books?
No, I don´t have any.
Have you got any apples?
Yes, I have some.
Have you got any T-shirts?
No, I don´t have any.

5. Finally, I would like you to translate the following sentences using “algo de” o “nada de”:

Have you got any money? (Group / Friendly)
No, we haven´t got any money.
Do you know any Spanish?
No, I don´t know any Spanish
Do you eat any meat?
No, I don´t eat any meat.

This is all for today.

These words always seem tricky as they don´t match very well with their English equivalents. I recommend you watch the original theory Spanish video lesson a few times and then practice with this video until you feel more confident using Spanish indefinite pronouns and adjectives.
