The preposition “de” is used in several fixed expressions in Spanish. Let’s check out some of them!

 

de ahí en adelante = from that moment on

de ahora en adelante = from now on; henceforth

de buena gana = willingly

de buenas a primeras = immediately, suddenly

de costumbre = as usual; normally

de cuando en cuando = from time to time

de golpe – suddenly, abruptly

de hecho = in fact, actually

de medio pelo = second-rate

de moda = in fashion; in style

de nada = not at all, you’re welcome

de nuevo = again

de par en par = wide open (door, window)

de perlas = just what you needs; just right

de pronto = suddenly

de repente = abruptly, suddenly

de todas maneras = in any case; anyway

de todos modos = anyway; at any rate

de un modo u otro = one way or another

de un momento a otro = at any moment

de una vez = at once

de veras = really, truly

de vez en cuando = sometimes; now and then

.
