There are some very useful expressions with the prepositions a, en, and de that show how something is done. Let’s check out some of them!

Expresiones con A

a media voz – whispering
a mano – by hand
a gusto – at ease
a empujones – by shoves
a lo loco – in a crazy way
a la fuerza – by force
al galope – at a gallop
a escondidas – secretly
a grandes voces – loud and clear
a cien por hora – at  100 km/h, very fast

Expresiones con EN

en secreto – secretly
en broma – as a joke, joking
en voz alta – out loud
en serio – seriously
en confianza – in confidence, among friends

Expresiones con DE

de pago – requiring a fee, not free
de compras – out shopping
de broma – as a joke
de juerga – having a good time, partying
de suerte – luckily
de pie – standing, on one’s feet
de buen humor – in a good mood
de veras – really, indeed
de luto – in mourning
