Enrique Iglesias is a Spanish singer, whose father is world famous crooner Julio Iglesias.  Let’s watch a little interview with Enrique where he talks about sucess and failure. Below you will see the translated script.

Entrevistador: ¿Cuáles son tus mayores éxitos y lo que sientes tus mayores fracasos dentro de tu carrera musical? (What are your biggest success and what do you feel are your biggest failures in your musical career?)

Enrique Iglesias: ¿Mis mayores fracasos? Yo creo que mis mayores éxitos han venido gracias a mis mayores fracasos. Porque de eso se aprende y yo soy de esas personas que cuando me derrumban, me acuesto triste o llorando pero me despierto con una sonrisa con más fuerza, ¿no? Más que nada que eres, es un reto. Creo que si no tienes retos en la vida a veces es difícil superarse. (My biggest failures? I think my biggest sucess have come thanks to my biggest failures. Because you learn from that and I’m one of those people who, when having fallen, I go to bed sad or crying but I wake up with a much stronger smile, right? Besides, it’s a challenge. I think that if you don’t have challenges in your life it’s hard to outdo yourself.)

Entrevistador: Tenías dieciocho y comenzabas, ¿pensaste que ibas a llegar hasta aquí o decías, muy lejos? (You were eighteen and you were starting, did you think you’d come this far or did you think it was too far away?)

Enrique Iglesias: Yo creo que cuando tenía diez siempre pensé, siempre soñé con poder llegar a un momento como este y ojalá que todavía me quede mucho más. Mira, he sido muy afortunado y amo lo que hago y no lo cambiaría por nada en este mundo. (I think I was ten and I always thought and dreamed of getting to a moment like this and hopefully I still have much more of this. Look, I’ve been very fortunate and I love what I do and I wouldn’t change it for the world.)

Entrevistador: Si cierras los ojos por un segundo, ¿hasta dónde te gustaría llegar? ¿Qué sería el cúmulo del éxito? (If you close your eyes for a second, where would you like to get to? What would be your ultimate sucess?)

Enrique Iglesias: Mira, ojalá que siga escribiendo canciones y que siga estando inspirado. (Look, hopefully I will keep writing and will keep inspired.)
