Vocabulary: Kitchen Utensils

Posted on 12. Mar, 2010 by in Spanish Vocabulary

Here’s a very useful list of kitchen utensils.  Notice that some words have more than one equivalent because Spanish is spoken in so many countries.

You can download the Byki list for Windows and Mac, or learn it from List Central:

batidora – mixer
cacerola / cazuela – saucepan
colador – strainer, colander
cubo / tacho de la basura – trash can
escurridor – dish rack
fregadero / pila / pileta / lavadero – sink
fuente / molde – baking pan, mold
grifo / canilla – faucet
licuadora – blender
olla – pot
plato hondo / sopero – soup dish
plato llano / playo – (dinner) plate
sartén – frying pan
tetera / pava – teapot
vasija / cuenco / palangana – bowl

Nos vemos prontito.
