I got a query recently about the usage of different particles that are made up of one letter only, e.g. <\/span>\u0641\u060c \u0644\u060c \u0643\u060c \u0628<\/span>. In this post, I give some examples of their different uses. First of all, it should be noted that any particle that is made up of one letter only cannot stand alone, i.e. it must join the word after. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u0628<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\n

This is a preposition. It means \u2018by\u2019 or \u2018by means of\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n

\u0623\u062d\u0628 \u0627\u0644\u0643\u062a\u0627\u0628\u0629 \u0628\u0627\u0644\u0642\u0644\u0645 \u0627\u0644\u0631\u0635\u0627\u0635.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI like to write by pencils.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u0633\u0627\u0641\u0631\u0646\u0627 \u0625\u0644\u0649 \u0645\u0635\u0631 \u0628\u0627\u0644\u0637\u0627\u0626\u0631\u0629.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe travelled to Egypt by airplane\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u0643<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

This is a preposition, and it is used to express similarity.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u0633\u0645\u064a\u0631\u0629 \u0643\u0623\u062e\u062a\u0643<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSamira is like your sister.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u062b\u0648\u0628\u0643 \u0623\u0628\u064a\u0636 \u0643\u0627\u0644\u062b\u0644\u062c.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYour outfit is as white as snow\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u0644<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

This is a preposition, and it means \u2018to\u2019 or \u2018in order to\u2019. It should be noted that when (<\/span>\u0644<\/span>) comes before a noun that begins with (<\/span>\u0627\u0644<\/span>), we have to delete the first (<\/span>\u0627<\/span>) of (<\/span>\u0627\u0644<\/span>), for example (<\/span>\u0644<\/span>) + (<\/span>\u0627\u0644\u0628\u064a\u062a<\/span>) = (<\/span>\u0644\u0644\u0628\u064a\u062a<\/span>)<\/span><\/p>\n

\u0633\u0646\u0630\u0647\u0628 \u0644\u0644\u062c\u0627\u0645\u0639\u0629 \u0627\u0644\u0622\u0646<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe will go to university now.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u0623\u062f\u0631\u0633 \u0643\u062b\u064a\u0631\u0627\u064b \u0644\u0623\u0646\u062c\u062d.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI study a lot in order to succeed\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is a connector. It is used to connect 2 sentences that have a cause and effect relationship between them.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u0643\u0646\u062a \u062c\u0648\u0639\u0627\u0646\u0629 \u0641\u0623\u0643\u0644\u062a<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI was hungry, so I ate.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
