Conditional sentences are made up of 2 parts or 2 sentences, one of them contains a particle for condition (\u0623\u062f\u0627\u0629 \u0627\u0644\u0634\u0631\u0637<\/span>), and this sentence is called (\u062c\u0645\u0644\u0629 \u0627\u0644\u0634\u0631\u0637<\/span>). The other one provides the outcome of the condition, and it is called (\u062c\u0648\u0627\u0628 \u0627\u0644\u0634\u0631\u0637<\/span>).<\/p>\n

The most common type of conditional in English involves \u2018if\u2019. There are 3 words in Arabic which mean if, i.e. \u0625\u0646\u0652 \u2013 \u0625\u0630\u0627 \u2013 \u0644\u064e\u0648<\/span>.<\/p>\n

\u0625\u0646\u0652 <\/span>and \u0625\u0630\u0627 <\/span>aresimilar and sometimes are interchangeable. The main difference is that \u0625\u0646\u0652<\/span> expresses more certainty. The sentence containing the conditional particle is in most of the cases in the past tense, although the present can also be used. Consider the following examples:<\/p>\n

\n

The present tense can be used in the condition sentence to make statements more factual and certain. This is used to give advice, e.g.<\/p>\n

\u0625\u0646\u0652 \u062a\u064f\u0630\u0627\u0643\u0650\u0631 \u062a\u064e\u0646\u0652\u062c\u064e\u062d.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIf you study, you will succeed.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u0644\u064e\u0648<\/span> is used in hypothetical statements. Both parts of the condition are in the past tense, and the outcome of the condition usually begins with (\u0644<\/span>)<\/p>\n
