Differences in pronunciation can be in producing consonants, vowels, clustering (i.e. how many consonants can occur in a cluster), and stress. MSA is pronounced as <strong>\u0642 <\/strong>or more accurately as the English \u2018g\u2019 in <em>game<\/em>. In foreign words, which are borrowed into Arabic, such as George, John, jam, jacket, the English <em>j<\/em> is pronounced as in English, thus <strong>\u062c\u064f\u0648\u0652\u0631\u062c<\/strong><strong>, \u062c\u064f\u0648\u0652\u0646, \u062c\u064e\u0627\u0645, \u062c\u064e\u0627\u0643\u0650\u062a<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>As to <strong>\u062b <\/strong><em>th<\/em> of MSA, it is either pronounced as <strong>\u062a <\/strong><em>t <\/em>or as <strong>\u0633 <\/strong><em>s<\/em>. If the word the contains the sound <strong>\u062b <\/strong>is very common in daily usage, it is almost always pronounced as <strong>\u062a<\/strong>. However, if the word containing the sound <strong>\u062b <\/strong>is less frequent in daily usage, it is mainly pronounced as <strong>\u0633<\/strong>. In like manner, <strong>\u0630 <\/strong>is pronounced as <strong>\u062f <\/strong>in common words but as <strong>\u0632 <\/strong>in less common words.<\/p>\n<p>However, the case of <strong>\u0642 <\/strong>is somehow interesting, as it, in a large number of cases, retains its MSA pronunciation. Some examples of these are <strong>\u0642\u064e\u0631\u064e\u0627\u0631 <\/strong><em>garaar <\/em>\u2018decision\u2019, <strong>\u0627\u0644\u0642\u064e\u0627\u0647\u0650\u0631\u064e\u0629 <\/strong><em>al-gaahirah <\/em>\u2018Cairo\u2019, and <strong>\u0631\u064e\u0642\u064e\u0645 <\/strong><em>ragam <\/em>\u2018number\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>This list is not comprehensive. There are other differences that rarely occur in daily communication.
