Like a tree with its firm roots \u062c\u0630\u0648\u0631<\/strong> <\/span>deep in the ground and its sweet fruits and leaves high in \u00a0\u00a0the sky, Mostafa Mahmoud had firm roots and his works are like fruits for all people. Mostafa Mahmoud was and Egyptian doctor \u0637\u0628\u064a\u0628<\/strong> <\/span>, scientist \u0639\u0627\u0644\u0645<\/strong> <\/span>, psychologist \u0639\u0627\u0644\u0645<\/strong> \u0646\u0641\u0633<\/strong><\/span>, philosopher \u0641\u064a\u0644\u0633\u0648\u0641<\/strong> <\/span>, thinker \u0645\u0641\u0643\u0631<\/strong> <\/span>and writer \u0643\u0627\u062a\u0628<\/strong> <\/span>.<\/p>\n

He was born on 27th<\/sup> December 1921 in Shibeen Al-Koom, Monofiyya Province, Egypt. He was raised by a middle class family near a famous mosque in Tanta where he attended secondary school. He used to be good at school and had a small lab in his house where he did experiments on gases and small animals. He spent most of his time thinking and day-dreaming especially when he joined the College of Medicine in Cairo. He used to spend a long time looking at dead bodies and asking himself questions about death \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0648\u062a <\/strong><\/span>and life\u00a0 \u0627\u0644\u062d\u064a\u0627\u0629 <\/strong><\/span>after death. He traveled a lot and wrote in many subjects. He used to present a television program that was called “Science and Faith \u0627\u0644\u0639\u0644\u0645 \u0648 \u0627\u0644\u0625\u064a\u0645\u0627\u0646 <\/strong><\/span>” in which he tried hard to prove the accordance of scientific facts with Islamic and Qura’anic facts. He died on 31st<\/sup> October 2009 after a long struggle with illness \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0631\u0636 <\/strong><\/span>leaving behind a great number of precious books and journal articles.<\/p>\n

Mosatafa Mahmoud’s life can be divided into some several stages that mark his thought development and growth. He dated for these stages of his own life.<\/p>\n

  1. The Secular Materialistic Stage<\/span><\/em><\/strong> (1954 \u2013 1958): He wrote some book collections in which he depicted society from a realistic point of view. He refused all religious paradigms and doubted everything. “Allah and Man <\/span>\u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 <\/strong>\u0648<\/strong>\u0627\u0644\u0625\u0646\u0633\u0627\u0646<\/strong> <\/span>” and “Demon <\/span>\u0627\u0644\u0634\u064a\u0637\u0627\u0646<\/strong> <\/span>” were among these books.<\/li>\n
  2. The Uncertainty Stage<\/span><\/em><\/strong> (1959 \u2013 1962): Here he was convinced of the inability of the materialistic thought. To provide any comprehensible explanations for life, death, man, and history. In this stage he wrote many novels like; “The Mystery of Death <\/span>\u0644\u063a\u0632<\/strong>\u0627\u0644\u0645\u0648\u062a<\/strong><\/span>” , “The Mystery of Life<\/span> \u0644\u063a\u0632<\/strong>\u0627\u0644\u062d\u064a\u0627\u0629<\/strong><\/span>” and “The Impossible <\/span>\u0627\u0644\u0645\u0633\u062a\u062d\u064a\u0644<\/strong> <\/span>“<\/li>\n
  3. The Nature Stage<\/span><\/em><\/strong>: (1962 \u2013 1964): Here Mostafa Mahmoud sets out to nature to try to find answers and reach the truth. He travels to tropical forests and deserts and then comes back to write three books; “The Forest <\/span>\u0627\u0644\u063a\u0627\u0628\u0629<\/strong> <\/span>” , ” A Traveler’s Tales <\/span>\u062d\u0643\u0627\u064a\u0627\u062a <\/strong>\u0645\u0633\u0627\u0641\u0631<\/strong> <\/span>” and ” An Adventure in the Desert <\/span>\u0645\u063a\u0627\u0645\u0631\u0629 \u0641\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0635\u062d\u0631\u0627\u0621<\/strong> <\/span>“.<\/li>\n
  4. The Scientific Stage<\/span><\/em><\/strong> (1964 \u2013 1966 ): Here Mostafa Mahmoud resorts to science and even goes further it to try to find answers and he writes some science fiction stories like; ” The Spider <\/span>\u0627\u0644\u0639\u0646\u0643\u0628\u0648\u062a<\/strong> <\/span>” , ” Out of the Coffin <\/span>\u0627\u0644\u062e\u0631\u0648\u062c <\/strong>\u0645\u0646<\/strong> \u0627\u0644\u062a\u0627\u0628\u0648\u062a<\/strong> <\/span>” , ” A Man under Zero <\/span>\u0631\u062c\u0644 \u062a\u062d\u062a \u0627\u0644\u0635\u0641\u0631<\/strong> <\/span>” and\u00a0 ” Einstein and Relativity <\/span>\u0623\u064a\u0646\u0634\u062a\u064a\u0646 \u0648 \u0627\u0644\u0646\u0633\u0628\u064a\u0629<\/strong> <\/span>“<\/li>\n
  5. The Literary Stage<\/span><\/em><\/strong> (1966 \u2013 1968 ) : Mahmoud began some literary plays like; ” The Earthquake <\/span>\u0627\u0644\u0632\u0644\u0632\u0627\u0644<\/strong> <\/span>” , “Man and the Shade\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u0627\u0644\u0625\u0646\u0633\u0627\u0646 <\/strong>\u0648<\/strong>\u0627\u0644\u0638\u0644<\/strong><\/span>” and “Alexander the Great <\/span>\u0627\u0644\u0627\u0633\u0643\u0646\u062f\u0631<\/strong>\u0627\u0644\u0623\u0643\u0628\u0631<\/strong><\/span> ” Mahmoud also, wrote some literary novels like; “Blood Smell <\/span>\u0631\u0627\u0626\u062d\u0629 \u0627\u0644\u062f\u0645 <\/strong><\/span>” and “Opium <\/span>\u0627\u0644\u0623\u0641\u064a\u0648\u0646<\/strong> <\/span>“<\/li>\n

The Religious Stage<\/span><\/em><\/strong> (1968 \u2013 1970) : Mostafa mahmoud started a long journey in all kinds of religions and wrote on them all ending with Islam and Qura’an to find all answers. He wrote many books including; “My journey from Doubt to Faith <\/span>\u0631\u062d\u0644\u062a\u064a \u0645\u0646 \u0627\u0644\u0634\u0643 \u0625\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0625\u064a\u0645\u0627\u0646<\/strong><\/span> ”\u00a0 , “Allah <\/span>\u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647<\/strong> <\/span>“, “Mohammad <\/span>\u0645\u062d\u0645\u062f<\/strong> <\/span>” , “The Church <\/span>\u0627\u0644\u0643\u0646\u064a\u0633\u0629<\/strong> <\/span>” , ” Torah \u0627\u0644\u062a\u0648\u0631\u0627\u0629<\/strong> <\/span>” , ” The Demon Rules <\/span>\u0627\u0644\u0634\u064a\u0637\u0627\u0646 <\/strong>\u064a\u062d\u0643\u0645<\/strong> <\/span>” , “Body and Soul <\/span>\u0627\u0644\u0631\u0648\u062d <\/strong>\u0648<\/strong>\u0627\u0644\u062c\u0633\u062f<\/strong> <\/span>” , ” A Dialogue with my Atheist Friend <\/span>\u062d\u0648\u0627\u0631 \u0645\u0639 \u0635\u062f\u064a\u0642\u064a <\/strong>\u0627\u0644\u0645\u0644\u062d\u062f<\/strong> <\/span>” , ” Marxism and Islam <\/span>\u0627\u0644\u0645\u0627\u0631\u0643\u0633\u064a\u0629 <\/strong>\u0648<\/strong>\u0627\u0644\u0625\u0633\u0644\u0627\u0645<\/strong> <\/span>” , ” Why I Rejected Marxism <\/span>\u0644\u0645\u0627\u0630\u0627 \u0631\u0641\u0636\u062a\u064f \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0627\u0631\u0643\u0633\u064a\u0629 <\/strong><\/span>”\u00a0 At this stage, Mahmoud explored all kinds and theories of thought and was totally convinced in the Islamic thought.<\/li>\n
  7. The Mystic (Sufi) Stage<\/span><\/em><\/strong>: That stage started in the late 1960s and continued till he died. He wrote so many books and stories like; ” The Greatest Secret <\/span>\u0623\u0644\u0633\u0631<\/strong> \u0627\u0644\u0623\u0639\u0638\u0645<\/strong> <\/span>” , “I saw Allah <\/span>\u0631\u0623\u064a\u062a\u064f<\/strong> \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647<\/strong> <\/span>” , ” Existence and Nihilism <\/span>\u0627\u0644\u0648\u062c\u0648\u062f<\/strong> \u0648<\/strong> \u0627\u0644\u0639\u062f\u0645<\/strong><\/span> ” , “Qura’an Secrets <\/span>\u0623\u0633\u0631\u0627\u0631<\/strong> \u0627\u0644\u0642\u0631\u0622\u0646<\/strong><\/span> ” and\u00a0 ‘ Qura’an is a Living Being <\/span>\u0627\u0644\u0642\u0631\u0622\u0646<\/strong> \u0643\u0627\u0626\u0646<\/strong> \u062d\u0649<\/strong> <\/span>“<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
