In Arabic, this is called <strong>\u0646\u0650\u0633\u0652\u0628\u064e\u0629<\/strong> \u2018relation.\u2019 This type of adjectives is common in Arabic. To form adjectives of this type, we simply add a suffix the end of nouns, that is <strong>\u064a\u0651 <\/strong>(<strong>\u064a <\/strong>with <em>shaddah<\/em>). This suffix\/<strong>\u064a <\/strong>is called <strong>\u064a\u064e\u0627\u0621 \u0627\u0644\u0646\u0651\u064e\u0633\u064e\u0628<\/strong>, the <strong>\u064a <\/strong>of attribution. To say <strong>\u0628\u064e\u0644\u064e\u062f \u0625\u0650\u0633\u0652\u0644\u0627\u0645\u0650\u064a <\/strong>\u2018an Islamic country\u2019, we relate a word, <strong>\u0628\u064e\u0644\u064e\u062f<\/strong>, to a religion, <strong>\u0625\u0650\u0633\u0652\u0644\u0627\u0645<\/strong>. To say <strong>\u0631\u0632 \u0647\u0650\u0646\u0652\u062f\u0650\u064a<\/strong> \u2018Indian rice\u2019, we relate a food, <strong>\u0631\u064f\u0632<\/strong>, to a country, <strong>\u0627\u0644\u0647\u0650\u0646\u0652\u062f<\/strong>. To say <strong>\u0628\u064e\u062d\u0652\u062b \u062a\u064e\u0631\u0652\u0628\u064e\u0648\u0650\u064a <\/strong>\u2018educational research\u2019, we relate a research, <strong>\u0628\u064e\u062d\u0652\u062b<\/strong>, to a field of research, <strong>\u0627\u0644\u062a\u0651\u064e\u0631\u0652\u0628\u0650\u064a\u064e\u0629<\/strong>. Therefore, we are describing someone or something tersely. That is, rather than saying <strong>\u0645\u064e\u062d\u064e\u0645\u0651\u064e\u062f \u0645\u0650\u0646 \u0627\u0644\u064a\u064e\u0645\u064e\u0646 <\/strong>\u2018Mohammed is from Yemen,\u2019 <strong>\u0631\u064f\u0632 \u0645\u0650\u0646 \u0625\u0650\u0646\u0652\u062a\u064e\u0627\u062c \u0627\u0644\u0647\u0650\u0646\u0652\u062f <\/strong>\u2018rice that is produced in India,\u2019 we use the relational adjectives <strong>\u064a\u064e\u0645\u064e\u0646\u0650\u064a <\/strong>and <strong>\u0647\u0646\u0652\u062f\u0650\u064a <\/strong>to form shorter phrases\/sentence with similar meaning, <strong>\u0645\u064e\u062d\u064e\u0645\u0651\u064e\u062f \u064a\u064e\u0645\u064e\u0646\u0650\u064a <\/strong>and <strong>\u0631\u064f\u0632 \u0647\u0650\u0646\u0652\u062f\u0650\u064a<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Relational Adjectives of Regular Nouns:<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Generally, to make a relational adjective from a noun we add <em>kasrah <\/em>to the last letter of this noun and then append the <strong>\u064a\u0651 <\/strong>to it. This rule is straightforward in regular nouns, i.e. nouns that end in sound letters (all letters other than <strong>\u0627<\/strong>, <strong>\u0648<\/strong>, <strong>\u0621<\/strong>, and irregularities; therefore, they are not included here.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600\">Relational Adjective of Common Irregular nouns:<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nouns that include a weak letter <strong>\u062d\u064e\u0631\u0652\u0641\u064f \u0639\u0650\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0629 <\/strong>(i.e. <strong>\u0627<\/strong>, <strong>\u0648<\/strong>, <strong>\u064a <\/strong>or <strong>\u0621<\/strong>), especially in final position, are called irregular because they undergo some change prior to append the <strong>\u064a\u0651 <\/strong>of attribution. These changes are dropping a letter, replacing a letter by another, retaining a dropped letter, or adding an extra letter.<\/p>\n<p>(1) Nouns that end in an <em>alif four-or-more-letter words are rare in Arabic; therefore, they are not listed here. One example of these is listed in the first paragraph, that is <strong>\u062a\u064e\u0631\u0652\u0628\u064e\u0648\u0650\u064a <\/strong>which is derived from the word <strong>\u062a\u064e\u0631\u0652\u0628\u0650\u064a\u064e\u0629 <\/strong>\u2018education.\u2019 Here, the <strong>\u0640\u0629 <\/strong>is dropped and what remains is <strong>\u062a\u064e\u0631\u0652\u0628\u0650\u064a<\/strong>, which is a four-letter word ending in <strong>\u064a<\/strong>.
