Five days ago, the Winter Olympics (\u062f\u0648\u0631\u0629 \u0627\u0644\u0623\u0644\u0639\u0627\u0628 \u0627\u0644\u0623\u0648\u0644\u0645\u0628\u064a\u0629 \u0627\u0644\u0634\u062a\u0648\u064a\u0629<\/span>) started in Vancouver, Canada. This event has attracted a great deal of attention worldwide, but not so much in the Arab world. There are only 3 Arab countries present in Vancouver Morocco (\u0627\u0644\u0645\u063a\u0631\u0628<\/span>), Algeria (\u0627\u0644\u062c\u0632\u0627\u0626\u0631<\/span>) and Lebanon (<\/span>\u0644\u0628\u0646\u0627\u0646<\/span>). There are 5 athletes (<\/span>\u062e\u0645\u0633\u0629 \u0631\u064a\u0627\u0636\u064a\u064a\u0646<\/span>)<\/span> from the three countries; two of them are women. The weak Arab representation is understandable because the weather in Arab countries is dry, desert and warm. There is not much opportunity for winter sports (\u0627\u0644\u0623\u0644\u0639\u0627\u0628 \u0627\u0644\u0634\u062a\u0648\u064a\u0629<\/span>) to flourish. In fact, most of these sports do not even have Arabic names because they are not practiced in the Arab world.<\/span><\/p>\n
