This is one of the questions that many of my students ask. As a general rule, the writing of medial hamza depends on how it is vowelled and how the letters before and after it are vowelled. In this post, I will describe the most important rules. Medial Hamza appears in one of the following forms (\u0621 \u060c \u0640\u0626\u0640 \u060c \u0624 \u060c \u0623)<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-16658\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/arabic\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2019\/03\/\u0647\u0645\u0632\u06291-350x269.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"269\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/arabic\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2019\/03\/\u0647\u0645\u0632\u06291-350x269.png 350w, https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/arabic\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2019\/03\/\u0647\u0645\u0632\u06291.png 655w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Medial Hamza is written on alif as (\u0623)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>If it is vowelled with \u0641\u062a\u062d\u0629 and preceded by a letter vowelled by \u0633\u0643\u0648\u0646 or \u0641\u062a\u062d\u0629, e.g.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u0631\u0623\u0649 = saw<\/p>\n<p>\u0633\u0623\u0644 = asked<\/p>\n<p><em>If it is vowelled with \u0633\u0643\u0648\u0646 and preceded by a letter vowelled by \u0641\u062a\u062d\u0629, e.g.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u0631\u0623\u0633 = head<\/p>\n<p>\u0634\u0623\u0646 = matter<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Medial Hamza is written on \u0648 as (\u0624)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>If it is vowelled with \u0636\u0645\u0629 and preceded by a letter vowelled by \u0633\u0643\u0648\u0646, e.g.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u062a\u0634\u0627\u0624\u0645 = pessimism<\/p>\n<p>\u062a\u0641\u0627\u0624\u0644 = optimism<\/p>\n<p><em>it is preceded by a letter vowelled by \u0636\u0645\u0629, e.g.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u0633\u0624\u0627\u0644 = question<\/p>\n<p>\u0644\u0624\u0644\u0624 = pearl<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Medial Hamza is written on \u064a as (\u0640\u0626\u0640)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>If it is vowelled with \u0643\u0633\u0631\u0629 and preceded by a letter vowelled by \u0633\u0643\u0648\u0646 or another vowel, e.g.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u0646\u0627\u0626\u0645 = asleep<\/p>\n<p>\u0633\u0626\u0645 = got bored<\/p>\n<p><em>If it is vowelled with \u0633\u0643\u0648\u0646 or \u0641\u062a\u062d\u0629 and preceded by a letter vowelled by \u0643\u0633\u0631\u0629, e.g.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u0627\u0626\u062a\u0645\u0627\u0646 = credit<\/p>\n<p>\u0637\u0627\u0631\u0626\u0629 = emergency<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Medial Hamza is written on the line as (\u0621)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>If it is vowelled with \u0641\u062a\u062d\u0629 and preceded by the letter \u0627\u0644\u0641 or \u0648\u0627\u0648, e.g.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u0646\u0628\u0648\u0621\u0629 = prophecy<\/p>\n<p>\u062a\u0633\u0627\u0621\u0644 = wondered<\/p>\n<p><em>If it is vowelled with \u0641\u062a\u062d\u0629 and preceded by a letter vowelled by \u0633\u0643\u0648\u0646 , e.g.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u0645\u0631\u0621\u0648\u0633 = employee<\/p>\n<p>\u062c\u0632\u0621\u0627\u0646 = two part<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In my following post, I will write about the final hamza!
