Important note<\/strong>: In English, when asking how many of something there are, we ask in the plural form, for example: How many rooms<\/u> are in this apartment? \u201croom\u201d is in the plural form.<\/p>\n

In Arabic, we ask in the singular form: \u0643\u0645 \u063a\u0631\u0641\u0629<\/u> \u0641\u064a \u0647\u0630\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0634\u0642\u0629\u061f<\/strong> yet, the answer is in the plural form:<\/p>\n

.\u064a\u0648\u062c\u062f \u062b\u0644\u0627\u062b \u063a\u0631\u0641<\/u> <\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0There are three rooms.<\/p>\n

Therefore, always remember that in Arabic, we ask<\/u> how many of something in the singular<\/u> form and answer<\/u> in the plural<\/u> form.<\/p>\n

Yet, the old-fashioned markets (souk \u0633\u0648\u0642) still exist and you definitely want to visit these markets to check out the produce, spices, sweets, etc. and also pick up some souvenirs. Therefore, it\u2019s good to have a few easy phrases down to help you bargain with the sellers. Of course, make sure you have your numbers memorized! ?<\/p>\n
