When learning a new language, some learners like to begin listening to songs <\/strong>\u0623\u063a\u0627\u0646\u064a<\/strong> in that language. In the case of Arabic, you can find many Arabic songs of course, but most songs are in different dialects such as Egyptian, Lebanese, and gulf. So, if you\u2019re learning standard Arabic, you\u2019ll want to listen to <\/strong>\u062a\u064e\u0633\u0652\u062a\u064e\u0645\u0650\u0639 \u0625\u0644\u0649<\/strong> songs in Fusha\/MSA (Modern standard Arabic). In this post we\u2019ll be looking at a few very famous <\/strong>\u0645\u064e\u0634\u0652\u0647\u0648\u0631<\/strong> singers that sing in standard or classical Arabic.<\/p>\n

Below, I have chosen two songs for each singer from YouTube with English subtitles to help you follow along. I think as an Arabic learner, you will find that these songs go at a slower pace than many of the pop songs and have rich lyrics and beautiful tunes.<\/p>\n

The first singer here is Kadim Al-Saher <\/strong>\u0643\u0627\u0638\u0645 \u0627\u0644\u0633\u0627\u0647\u0631<\/strong>\u200e<\/strong>, an Iraqi singer<\/strong> \u0645\u064f\u063a\u064e\u0646\u0651\u064a \/ \u0645\u064f\u0637\u0652\u0631\u0650\u0628 <\/strong>and composer<\/strong> \u0645\u064f\u0624\u0644\u0651\u0641 \u0645\u0648\u0633\u064a\u0642\u064a<\/strong>, who is famous for his classical songs taken from Arabic poetry <\/strong>\u0627\u0644\u0634\u0651\u0650\u0639\u0631 \u0627\u0644\u0639\u064e\u0631\u064e\u0628\u064a<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Third, the most famous of them all, Fairouz <\/strong>\u0641\u064a\u0631\u0648\u0632<\/strong>, also a Lebanese singer. You may have already heard of her since she is one of the most admired and influential <\/strong>\u0630\u0648 \u0646\u064f\u0641\u0648\u0630<\/strong> singers in the Arab world.<\/p>\n
