Nowadays, Egyptians celebrate it in the open air by having a picnic in parks and open fields all over the country.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike what\u2019s usually believed, this festival isn\u2019t a religious one; it just coincides with Easter holiday and springtime.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Egypt, the idea of this festival <strong>spread to<\/strong> \u0627\u0646\u062a\u0642\u0644\u062a \u0625\u0644\u0649 other countries, such as <strong>Morocco<\/strong> \u0627\u0644\u0645\u063a\u0631\u0628 , <strong>Tunisia<\/strong> \u062a\u0648\u0646\u0633 , <strong>Ukraine<\/strong> \u0623\u0643\u0631\u0627\u0646\u064a\u0627 , <strong>Greece<\/strong> \u0627\u0644\u064a\u0648\u0646\u0627\u0646 \u00a0and many others. Each country has its own way of celebrating it but the <strong>one tradition they all have in common<\/strong> \u0627\u0644\u062a\u0642\u0644\u064a\u062f \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0634\u062a\u0631\u0643 \u0628\u064a\u0646\u0647\u0645 is coloured eggs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>* * * * * * * * *<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/arabic\/art-and-culture-43662937\">Linguistic Term<\/a><\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The name Sham En-niseem came from the Hieroglyphic word \u201cShimmu\u201d \u0634\u0650\u0651\u0645\u0648 , which means: harvest. Then, it was changed to \u201csham\u201d \u0634\u0645 \u00a0in Coptic language before it became Sham En-niseem \u0634\u0645 \u0627\u0644\u0646\u0633\u064a\u0645 in the modern time, which literary means: <em>Smelling\/sniffing breeze<\/em> \u2013 in modern Arabic.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>* * * * * * * * *<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Main food <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Here is a list of the main four food items that Egyptians eat nowadays and the significance of each item in ancient Egypt.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Coloured eggs \u0627\u0644\u0628\u064a\u0636 \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0644\u0648\u0651\u0646<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Eggs were considered a symbol for resurrection \u0628\u0639\u062b \u0627\u0644\u062d\u064a\u0627\u0629 \u00a0so they used to <strong>engrave eggs<\/strong> \u064a\u0646\u0642\u0634\u0648\u0646 \u0639\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0628\u064a\u0636 \u00a0and write <strong>their wishes <\/strong>\u0623\u0645\u0646\u064a\u0627\u062a\u0647\u0645 \u00a0and <strong>prayers <\/strong>\u062f\u0639\u0648\u0627\u062a\u0647\u0645 \u00a0on them. Nowadays, Egyptians as well as many Christians in the Middle East<strong> colour <\/strong>\u064a\u0644\u0648\u0646\u0648\u0646 \u00a0and <strong>dye<\/strong> \u064a\u0635\u0628\u063a\u0648\u0646 <strong>boiled eggs<\/strong> \u0627\u0644\u0628\u064a\u0636 \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0633\u0644\u0648\u0642.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Al-Fesikh \u0627\u0644\u0641\u0650\u0633\u064a\u062e<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It is basically <strong>salted fish<\/strong> \u0633\u0645\u0643 \u0645\u0645\u0644\u0651\u062d. Many types of fish are used but the main one is <strong>mullet fish<\/strong> \u0633\u0645\u0643 \u0627\u0644\u0628\u0648\u0631\u064a that <strong>gets dried<\/strong> \u064a\u062a\u0645 \u062a\u062c\u0641\u064a\u0641\u0647 and salted about two weeks before serving it. It\u2019s notorious for its strong smell (used as excuse by many who refrain from eating it).<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Spring onions \u0627\u0644\u0628\u0635\u0644 \u0627\u0644\u0623\u062e\u0636\u0631<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Onions were considered a weapon against illnesses and magic.
