Then I began thinking about the <strong>\u0623\u0635\u0652\u0644<\/strong> <strong>origin<\/strong> of hummus and why people love this simple spread so much. No one can say for sure where it truly comes from, but the earliest mention of this spread dates back to 13<sup>th<\/sup> century Egypt. Chickpeas were and are <strong>\u0648\u064e\u0641\u064a\u0631<\/strong> <strong>abundant<\/strong> in the Middle East and are still commonly eaten. In fact, the Arabic word for <strong>chickpea<\/strong> is &#8220;<strong>\u062d\u064f\u0645\u064f\u0651\u0635&#8221;<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>The basic hummus recipe.\u00a0 \u00a0.\u0648\u064e\u0635\u0641\u0629 \u0627\u0644\u062d\u064f\u0645\u064f\u0635 \u0627\u0644\u0623\u0633\u0627\u0633\u064a\u0629<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Hummus is almost always made by combining <strong>\u0627\u0644\u062d\u064f\u0645\u0651\u064f\u0635 <\/strong><strong>chickpeas<\/strong>, <strong>\u0637\u064e\u062d\u064a\u0646\u0629<\/strong> <strong>sesame<\/strong> <strong>paste<\/strong>, <strong>\u0639\u064e\u0635\u064a\u0631<\/strong> <strong>\u0644\u064e\u064a\u0645\u0648\u0646<\/strong> <strong>lemon<\/strong> <strong>juice<\/strong> and <strong>\u0645\u064e\u0644\u0652\u062d<\/strong> <strong>salt<\/strong>. Some like to add <strong>\u062b\u0648\u0645<\/strong> <strong>garlic<\/strong> in the mix or mix it in after. I personally don\u2019t add anything but salt and sprinkle <strong>\u0643\u064e\u0645\u0648\u0646<\/strong> <strong>cumin<\/strong> and <strong>\u0633\u064f\u0645\u0627\u0642<\/strong> <strong>sumac<\/strong> once it\u2019s on a plate. Of course, a good drizzle of <strong>\u0632\u064e\u064a\u062a<\/strong> <strong>\u0627\u0644\u0632\u064e\u064a\u062a\u0648\u0646<\/strong> <strong>olive<\/strong> <strong>oil<\/strong> is a must. You&#8217;ll find that across the Middle East, there are numerous <strong>\u0625\u062e\u062a\u0644\u0627\u0641\u0627\u062a<\/strong> <strong>variations<\/strong> of what to add to a plate of <strong>\u062d\u064f\u0645\u064f\u0651\u0635<\/strong> and how to <strong>\u062a\u0632\u064a\u064a\u0646<\/strong> <strong>garnish<\/strong> the plate.
