In Egypt, these proverbs are part of everyone&#8217;s daily routine. There is no one single situation that would not have the perfect proverb tailored for it. Just for the sake of fun, I am going to share some of these famous proverbs. If you are living in Egypt, you will probably recognize them right away, but if you live outside Egypt, most likely you will have a smile on your face. These proverbs are in the Egyptian dialect.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>\u064a\u0635\u0648\u0645 \u064a\u0635\u0648\u0645 \u0648 \u064a\u0641\u0637\u0631 \u0639\u0644\u0649 \u0628\u0635\u0644\u0629<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\/ <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Yessoom, yessoom wi yeftar a&#8217;la basalah<\/span><\/strong> \/<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000\">Literal translation:<\/span> After fasting for so long, he feasts on an onion.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080\">Hidden meaning:<\/span> Said when someone&#8217;s hard work is not paid or not successful.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000\">Applicability:<\/span> Expression of disappointment at an unexpectedly weak response!<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>\u0627\u0644\u0639\u0642\u0644 \u0632\u064a\u0646\u0629 <\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\/ <span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><strong>Al-a&#8217;ql zeenah<\/strong><\/span> \/<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080\">Literal translation:<\/span> Having a brain makes a person look good.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000\">Hidden meaning:<\/span> Wisdom is beautiful; foolishness is ugly!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080\">Applicability:<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0Said to praise a wise man\/woman.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>\u0627\u0644\u0633\u0644\u0641 \u062a\u0644\u0641 \u0648 \u0627\u0644\u0631\u062f \u062e\u0633\u0627\u0631\u0629 \u00a0<\/strong><strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\/ <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Assalaf talaf wi ar&#8217;radd khossarah<\/span><\/strong> \/<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000\">Literal translation:<\/span> Borrowing is bad, and paying back is a loss.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080\">Hidden meaning:<\/span> Borrowing is not preferable.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000\">Applicability:<\/span> Said as an advice given to discourage borrowing<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>\u0627\u0628\u0639\u062f \u062d\u0628\u0629 \u062a\u0632\u064a\u062f \u0645\u062d\u0628\u0629 <\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\/ <span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><strong>ib&#8217;id habbah, tizeed mahabbah<\/strong><\/span> \/<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080\">Literal translation:<\/span> Go away for a while and you&#8217;ll be loved more.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000\">Hidden meaning:<\/span> The far-away friend is loved more.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080\">Applicability:<\/span> Comment on somebody&#8217;s love for a far-away friend<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">\u0627\u0644\u0643\u0630\u0628 \u0645\u0627\u0644\u0648\u0634 \u0631\u062c\u0644\u064a\u0646 <\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\/ <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Al-kath&#8217;ib maloosh regleen<\/span><\/strong> \/<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000\">Literal translation:<\/span> lying has no legs.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080\">Hidden meaning:<\/span> Lies will be discovered.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000\">Applicability:<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0Said to comment on the fate of a liar.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">\u0627\u0644\u0637\u064a\u0648\u0631 \u0639\u0644\u0649 \u0623\u0634\u0643\u0627\u0644\u0647\u0627 \u062a\u0642\u0639<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\/ <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Attoyoor ala ashkaliha taqa&#8217;a<\/span><\/strong> \/<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080\">Literal translation:<\/span> Birds of all kinds will end up landing.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000\">Hidden meaning:<\/span> Don&#8217;t be fooled by appearance.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080\">Applicability:<\/span> \u00a0Same as the English saying;
