According to today’s\u00a0MarketWatch<\/a><\/strong>, a report from\u00a0Language Line Services<\/a><\/strong>, the world’s largest provider of language services, reveals that between\u00a0Q1 2011<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Q1 2012<\/strong>,\u00a0Arabic<\/strong>\u00a0proved to be among the top spoken languages in\u00a0\u0627\u0644\u0648\u0644\u0627\u064a\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0627\u062a \u0627\u0644\u0645\u064f\u062a\u064e\u0651\u062d\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u062f\u0629 \u0627\u0644\u0623\u0645\u0631\u064a\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0643\u064a\u0629<\/strong>\u00a0(the United States<\/strong>) after\u00a0Spanish<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Those of you who are not big fans of “\u0627\u0644\u0623\u062e \u0627\u0644\u0623\u0643\u0628\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0631”<\/strong>\u00a0(“Big Brother”, that is) will naturally not be too thrilled to know how exactly this result was obtained:<\/p>\n

“The quarterly Language Line\u00a0LanguageTrak<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0“Interpreter Demand Index<\/strong>” uses proprietary data from 20 million over-the-phone interpretation-request calls the company fields annually in 170-plus languages. The report tracks calls for the government and health care sectors across 20 major U.S. cities, and ranks the top-10 most requested languages in each location, as well as percentage growth for each language.”<\/p>\n

It is particularly remarkable that the call tracking is said to be not only made on behalf of\u00a0\u0627\u0644\u062d\u064f\u0643\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0648\u0645\u0629\u00a0<\/strong>(the government), but also for\u00a0\u0642\u0650\u0637\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0627\u0639 \u0627\u0644\u0635\u0650\u0651\u062d\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0629<\/strong>\u00a0(the health care sector), which is widely referred to in the\u00a0US<\/strong>\u00a0as “Big Pharma<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

Businesses, local governments, court systems, emergency services and healthcare agencies need to think beyond Spanish to ensure no one is left without critical services because of a language barrier.”<\/p>\n

While\u00a0\u0627\u0644\u0625\u0633\u0628\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0627\u0646\u064a\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0640\u0629<\/strong>\u00a0<\/a>(Spanish<\/a><\/strong>) remains the No. 1 language across the 20 U.S. cities in the report, Arabic is ranked among the top-three requested languages in\u00a0nine<\/strong>\u00a0of the\u00a020 cities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
