Kunafa (\u0643\u0646\u0627\u0641\u0629) is a pastry that many families enjoy in Ramadan. It is available at pastries all around the year, but families like to prepare it at home in Ramadan. Kunafa has a distinctive shape, as it looks like strings or hair when raw.<\/p>\n

It can be prepared in many ways. In this posting, I will present the easiest and simplest way to prepare it. You need to have kunafa to begin with, as well as butter, nuts, raisins, and syrup. Kunafa is cut to small pieces and mixed with butter.<\/p>\n

Then, it is divided into two equal halves. One half is spread at the bottom of an oven tray, then the nuts and raisins are placed in the middle. The other half of the kunafa is then placed at the top.<\/p>\n

After cooking it in the oven until it is golden in colour, the sweet syrup is added to the top.<\/p>\n

You can use custard, fruits or any other filling of your choice instead of the nuts!<\/p>\n

In Syria, kunafa is prepared with cheese.<\/p>\n

Kunafa can be served with milk, and it can be decorated by dairy cream, fruits, etc.
\nKunafa can be bought from pastry shops\u00a0around the year.<\/p>\n
