It is very important when we write in any language to create logical relationships between the ideas that we present. There is a number of relationships that we can create like addition, contrast, among others, and there are many words and expressions that we can use to express these relationships. In this post, I present some words and expressions that we can use to express the relationship of addition in Arabic. Some of the addition connectors in English are \u2018and\u2019, \u2018too\u2019, \u2018also\u2019, \u2018furthermore\u2019, \u2018in addition\u2019, etc.<\/p>\n
The most commonly used connector in Arabic is probably (\u0648) \u2018and\u2019. It is also the easiest way of expressing the relationship of addition. We ca use it to connect nouns, verbs and clauses or sentences. Consider the following examples:<\/p>\n

\u201cOn the week end, we relax, play and visit our relatives.\u201d<\/p>\n

We express \u2018also\u2019, \u2018too\u2019 and \u2018as well\u2019 in Arabic using the word (\u0623\u064a\u0636\u0627\u064b).<\/p>\n

\u201cThe boy visited his grandmother and also his aunt.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u0623\u0646\u0627 \u0623\u064a\u0636\u0627\u064b \u0623\u0631\u064a\u062f \u062a\u0641\u0627\u062d\u0629.<\/p>\n
\u201cI want an apple too.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMy uncle is a doctor and aunt is (also) a doctor.\u201d<\/p>\n
We can express \u2018in addition\u2019, \u2018additionally\u2019, \u2018moreover\u2019, etc. in Arabic using the expressions (\u0628\u0627\u0644\u0625\u0636\u0627\u0641\u0629 \u0625\u0644\u0649 \u0630\u0644\u0643) or (\u0639\u0644\u0627\u0648\u0629 \u0639\u0644\u0649 \u0630\u0644\u0643).<\/p>\n
