h\u00f3ng sh\u0101o) or (<span class=\"s1\">\u5364<\/span> &#8211; l\u01d4): This method involves cooking over prolonged heat with the ingredients completely immersed in a soy sauce based broth. This style of cooking is commonly used for beef and eggs.<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">\n<h3>gradual simmering\/double boil (<span class=\"s1\">\u7096<\/span> &#8211; d\u00f9n): The ingredients are submerged in water in a ceramic casserole, which is then placed in water in a bigger pot to steam for many hours. Delicacies such as bird&#8217;s nest soup are cooked in this fashion.<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">\n<h3>high heat stir-fry (<span class=\"s1\">\u7206 &#8211; <\/span>b\u00e0o): This quick method uses\u00a0a lot of oil, sauce, or broth to quickly stir-fry the ingredients at very high heat in a wok. It&#8217;s meant to deliver a crispy texture without overcooking.<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">\n<h3>stewing (\u7116 &#8211; m\u00e8n): This is different from the Western style of stewing &#8211; ingredients are stir-fried until partially\u00a0cooked and then transferred to a clay pot to be slow-cooked. Commonly used for meat and fish.<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">\n<h3>hui (\u70e9 &#8211; hu\u00ec): This is also referred to as braising, but it&#8217;s a bit different as it is thickened with a starchy gravy at the end.<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>However you cook it, Chinese food is\u00a0one of the world&#8217;s most famous cuisines for good reason.
