After all, I did just wrap up a year of living and working there. Those who missed out can see those posts here &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/chinese\/one-year-in-yunnan-one\/\">Part One<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/chinese\/one-year-in-yunnan-part-two\/\">Part Two<\/a>. In addition to being home to many stunning landscapes and colorful ethnic minorities, Yunnan also has a lot of interesting quirks about it. As a matter of fact, there&#8217;s even a list compiling them. Read them in Chinese, pinyin, and English to get a better understanding of this unique province:<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"s1\">1. Eggs are sold in rope-like clusters.\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span class=\"s2\">\u9e21\u86cb\u7528\u8349\u4e32\u7740\u4e70<\/span><span class=\"s1\"> &#8211; j\u012b d\u00e0n y\u00f2ng c\u01ceo chu\u00e0n zhe m\u01cei<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span class=\"s1\">2. Rice cakes are called \u201cear piece.\u201d<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span class=\"s2\">\u7c91\u7c91\u997c\u5b50\u53eb\u9975\u5757<\/span><span class=\"s1\"> &#8211; b\u0101 b\u0101 b\u01d0ng zi ji\u00e0o \u011br ku\u00e0i<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span class=\"s1\">3. Three mosquitoes make up a meal.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span class=\"s2\">\u4e09\u53ea\u868a\u5b50\u7092\u76d8\u83dc<\/span><span class=\"s1\"> &#8211; s\u0101n zh\u012b w\u00e9n zi ch\u01ceo p\u00e1n c\u00e0i<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span class=\"s1\">4. I&#8217;ve asked tons of friends, students, and websites, and I get different answers from everyone.
