The beauty of Guilin has been inspiration for artists, poets, and musicians alike for thousands of years. While the <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/chinese\/72-hours-in-guilin-part-one\/\">city of Guilin<\/a> is certainly worthy of a day, an even better idea is to head a little south of the city to\u00a0<strong>Yangshuo <\/strong>(\u9633\u6714 \u2013 y\u00e1ng shu\u00f2). Surrounded by stunning\u00a0<strong>karst<\/strong>\u00a0(\u5ca9\u6eb6 \u2013 y\u00e1n r\u00f3ng) mountains and two rivers, this little town is a thriving tourist destination, with plenty of hotels, restaurants, and shops. If you don&#8217;t want to be surrounded by selfie-snapping, matching hat-wearing tour groups, you&#8217;ll want to stay outside of the main area.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\">\u8fd9\u91cc\u7684\u98ce\u666f\u5f88\u7f8e<br \/>\nzh\u00e8 l\u01d0 de f\u0113ng j\u01d0ng h\u011bn m\u011bi<br \/>\nThe scenery here is very beautiful.<\/h3>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.guesthouseyangshuo.com\/en\/index.htm\">Tripper\u2019s Carpe Diem<\/a>\u00a0hostel located just outside of the town comes highly recommended, as it\u2019s in a nice, quiet location, has great food (and Belgian beer!), and the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. With a bike, you can be out in the countryside surrounded by the majestic karst peaks in no time. Out in the countryside around Yangshuo, you&#8217;ll see far more fishermen and water buffaloes than tour groups. There are plenty of options for\u00a0<strong>rock climbing<\/strong>\u00a0(\u6500\u5ca9 \u2013 p\u0101n y\u00e1n), from half-day starter courses to epic multi-day trips. With over 300 routes of varying difficulties, there\u2019s a lot to keep you busy if you\u2019re into climbing. Choose your own fish from the tank and have it cooked up in a mixture of chillies and beer. Order up some side dishes and a bowl of rice, and you\u2019ve got yourself one hell of a meal. Set on the river with the karst mountains as the backdrop, this epic show highlights the culture of the Zhuang people and features hundreds of local people. If you\u2019re looking to wet your whistle, head instead to one of the rooftop bars for cheap drinks and good times. From raging\u00a0at the legendary Monkey Jane\u2019s, to silly beach parties at Bad Panda, to\u00a0a game of beer pong at Mojo, there are still plenty of great backpacker bars here. Go ahead and party hard tonight &#8211; you&#8217;ve earned it!
