Chinese food is too delicious to refuse. I love rice, tofu, noodles, dumplings, and I gorge on all the <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/chinese\/10-must-try-foods-in-china\/\">10 must-try foods in China<\/a>. No wonder why I always return home with some extra kilos.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u80d6<\/strong><strong>p\u00e0ng<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u80d6(p\u00e0ng) is an adjective meaning \u201cfat\u201d. It is an easy character to write: it consists of the radical \u6708, which often can be found in body related characters (like: \u8138li\u01cen for face, and\u8170y\u0101o for waist). And the second component \u534a (b\u00e0n) implies the character\u2019s pronunciation. \u80d6 is used to describe people. For example:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u4ed6\u8eab\u5b50\u5f88\u80d6\u3002<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>T\u0101 sh\u0113nzi h\u011bn p\u00e0ng.<\/p>\n<p>He is very fat.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u5979\u80d6\u5f97\u8170\u8eab\u4e5f\u770b\u4e0d\u51fa\u4e86\u3002<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>T\u0101 p\u00e0ng d\u00e9 y\u0101osh\u0113n y\u011b k\u00e0n b\u00f9 ch\u016ble.<\/p>\n<p>She is so fat, you can\u2019t even see her waists.<\/p>\n<p>Although an adjective, \u80d6by itself can also be translated as \u201cbecoming fat\u201d, according to the context. Every time I\u2019m invited to dinner, at some one\u2019s home or out in a restaurant, my Chinese host always makes sure I\u2019m satiated. And when the round table laden with <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/chinese\/vegetarian-chinese-food\/\">\u5730\u4e09\u9c9c<\/a> and other vegetarian dishes I always \u5403\u9971\u4e86.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u6211\u5e38\u5e38\u72c2\u5403\u997a\u5b50\u3002<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>W\u01d2 ch\u00e1ngch\u00e1ng ku\u00e1ng ch\u012b ji\u01ceozi.<\/p>\n<p>I often gorge on dumplings.<\/p>\n<p>\u72c2 (ku\u00e1ng) is an adverb meaning \u201cwildly\u201d, and it can be added to various verbs. For example: \u72c2\u559d (ku\u00e1ng h\u0113) literally means \u201cto crazily drink\u201d; \u72c2\u53eb (ku\u00e1ng ji\u00e0o) when referring to people can be translated to \u201cto scream\u201d, or \u201cto shout\u201d.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u6211\u901a\u5e38\u66b4\u996e\u66b4\u98df\u3002<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>W\u01d2 t\u014dngch\u00e1ng b\u00e0oy\u01d0n b\u00e0osh\u00ed.<\/p>\n<p>I usually overeat.<\/p>\n<p>\u66b4\u996e\u66b4\u98df (b\u00e0oy\u01d0n\u00a0b\u00e0osh\u00ed) is an expression, meaning \u201cbinge eating\u201d. \u996e (y\u01d0n) is a \u201cdrink\u201d, and \u98df (sh\u00ed) is \u201cfood\u201d, and the expression describes over eating and drinking.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u4e2d\u56fd\u98df\u7269\u592a\u6cb9\u817b\u4e86\u3002<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Zh\u014dnggu\u00f3 sh\u00edw\u00f9 t\u00e0i y\u00f3un\u00ecle.<\/p>\n<p>Chinese food is too greasy.<\/p>\n<p>\u6cb9 (y\u00f3u) and\u817b (n\u00ec) are both adjectives meaning \u201coily\u201d. You can use them together or only one of them to describe greasy food.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n<p>Greasy or not it\u2019s delicious. Next time you are in China try as many dishes as you can.
