Apologies for the brief posting gap- I’ve been running around the Pearl River Delta and closing out my apartment up north (more to follow on that). As a result of the national holiday, there were large celebrations throughout the \u5927\u9646<\/strong> (mainland) including a large-scale \u6e38\u884c<\/strong> (parade) in Beijing, a \u5047\u671f<\/strong> (vacation period) of 8 days, and when everybody \u653e\u5047<\/strong> (went on vacation) they went to \u56e2\u5706<\/strong> (reunite) with family to celebrate \u4e2d\u79cb<\/strong> (Mid-Autumn Festival) and eat \u6708\u997c<\/strong> (moon cakes).\u00a0 As for me,\u00a0 I decided to go see how the National Day would be observed in China’s \u7279\u522b\u884c\u653f\u533a<\/strong> (special administrative regions).\u00a0 The first part of the day, I was in Hong Kong, where I saw numerous \u56fd\u65d7<\/strong> (national flags) and a banner saying \u795d\u8d3a\u4e2d\u534e\u4eba\u6c11\u5171\u548c\u56fd<\/strong> (congratulations\/well wishing to the People’s Republic of China).\u00a0 When I got to Macau, I saw the world’s tallest \u8e66\u6781<\/strong> (bungee) platform, and came to the conclusion that you wouldn’t be aware of the National Holiday in Macau unless somebody told you beforehand.\u00a0 However, there were a couple of those banners at the MGM Grand.<\/p>\n Words<\/p>\n \u5927\u9646 da4lu4 – Mainland Hello readers!
