As a result of the national holiday, there were large celebrations throughout the <strong>\u5927\u9646<\/strong> (mainland) including a large-scale <strong>\u6e38\u884c<\/strong> (parade) in Beijing, a <strong>\u5047\u671f<\/strong> (vacation period) of 8 days, and when everybody <strong>\u653e\u5047<\/strong> (went on vacation) they went to <strong>\u56e2\u5706<\/strong> (reunite) with family to celebrate <strong>\u4e2d\u79cb<\/strong> (Mid-Autumn Festival) and eat <strong>\u6708\u997c<\/strong> (moon cakes).\u00a0 As for me,\u00a0 I decided to go see how the National Day would be observed in China&#8217;s <strong>\u7279\u522b\u884c\u653f\u533a<\/strong> (special administrative regions).\u00a0 The first part of the day, I was in Hong Kong, where I saw numerous <strong>\u56fd\u65d7<\/strong> (national flags) and a banner saying <strong>\u795d\u8d3a\u4e2d\u534e\u4eba\u6c11\u5171\u548c\u56fd<\/strong> (congratulations\/well wishing to the People&#8217;s Republic of China).\u00a0 When I got to Macau, I saw the world&#8217;s tallest <strong>\u8e66\u6781<\/strong> (bungee) platform, and came to the conclusion that you wouldn&#8217;t be aware of the National Holiday in Macau unless somebody told you beforehand.\u00a0 However, there were a couple of those banners at the MGM Grand.<\/p>\n<p>Words<\/p>\n<p>\u5927\u9646 da4lu4 &#8211; Mainland<br \/>\n\u6e38\u884c you2xing2 &#8211; parade<br \/>\n\u5047\u671f jia4qi1 &#8211; vacation period<br \/>\n\u653e\u5047 fang4jia4- go on vacation<br \/>\n\u56e2\u5706 tuan2yuan2 &#8211; reunite (used with families)<br \/>\n\u4e2d\u79cb zhong1qiu1 &#8211; mid-autumn festival (full name is \u4e2d\u79cb\u8282 zhong1qiu1jie2 with jie2 meaning holiday)<br \/>\n\u6708\u997c yue4bing3 &#8211; mooncakes<br \/>\n\u7279\u522b\u884c\u653f\u533a te4bie2xing2zheng4qu1 &#8211; Special Administrative Region(s)<br \/>\n\u56fd\u65d7  guo2qi2 &#8211; national flag<br \/>\n\u8e66\u6781 beng4ji2 &#8211; Bungee jumping<br \/>\n\u795d\u8d3a zhu4he4 &#8211; wish<br \/>\n\u4e2d\u534e\u4eba\u6c11\u5171\u548c\u56fd &#8211; zhong1hua2ren2min2gong4he2guo2 &#8211; People&#8217;s Republic of China<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello readers!
