A year after getting involve in a tax evasion scandal, Fan Bingbing (\u8303\u51b0\u51b0<\/strong>, 38), China\u2019s most famous actress, announced that she is breaking up with her partner.<\/p>\n

On 2014, Fan Bingbing starred in a Chinese television series named The Empress of China<\/em>\u00a0(\u6b66\u5a9a\u5a18\u4f20\u5947<\/strong>). Based on events from the\u00a0Tang dynasty, the drama focused on the romance (\u604b\u60c5 <\/strong>li\u00e0n q\u00edng) of the main character \u2013 the historical Wu Zetian, the first and only female empress in Chinese history. (Full episodes of the popular drama, including Chinese subtitles, are available on Youtube<\/a>). Fan Bingbing was not only the producer of the show, but also played the main rule of the empress. Playing by her side was the actor Li Chen (\u674e\u6668<\/strong>, 41), as the general Li Mu, Wu\u2019s childhood sweetheart.<\/p>\n

Only a year later, after months of rumors and paparazzi photos, the two finally confirmed that they are dating (\u4e8c\u4eba\u7ec8\u4e8e\u627f\u8ba4\u604b\u60c5<\/strong>, \u00e8r r\u00e9n zh\u014dng y\u00fa ch\u00e9ng r\u00e8n li\u00e0n q\u00edng). They made it public (\u516c\u5f00 <\/strong>g\u014dng k\u0101i) on social media. Li posted a picture of the two of them (\u5408\u7167<\/strong> h\u00e9 zh\u00e0o) on his Weibo<\/a> account with the caption: \u6211\u4eec<\/strong> (w\u01d2 men, we<\/em>). Shortly after, Fan posted the same picture with the same caption on her account<\/a>.<\/p>\n

For months, the two seem very close (\u663e\u5f97\u5341\u5206\u4eb2\u5bc6<\/strong>, xi\u01cen d\u00e9 sh\u00ed f\u0113n q\u012bn m\u00ec). On September 2017, Fan celebrated her birthday. She holds a big birthday party every year. For her 36th birthday<\/a> that year, the room was filled with pink flowers, every chair was ornately decorated, and there were six elaborately designed cakes in different shapes. But the climax of the evening wasn\u2019t planned by Fan. During the party, Li bent down on one knee and proposed (\u6c42\u5a5a<\/strong> qi\u00fa h\u016bn). After two years of relationship the lovers (\u60c5\u4fa3<\/strong> q\u00edng l\u01da) got engaged (\u8ba2\u5a5a<\/strong> d\u00ecng h\u016bn). The joy was nipped in the bud. On 2018, Fan was charged with tax evasion, and mysteriously vanished for three months.\u00a0Two days after she was ordered to settle more than 884 million RMB ($178 million)\u00a0in evaded taxes and fines, Li posted a supportive message<\/a>: \u752d\u7ba1\u591a\u96be\uff0c\u54b1\u4eec\u4e00\u8d77\u6e21\u8fc7\u53bb<\/strong> (b\u00e9ng gu\u01cen du\u014d n\u00e0n, z\u00e1n men y\u012b q\u01d0 d\u00f9 gu\u00f2 q\u00f9, no matter how difficult it may be, we will get through this together<\/em>).<\/p>\n

The two haven\u2019t get married (\u7ed3\u5a5a<\/strong> ji\u00e9 h\u016bn) yet, and on June 27, the famous actress announced they are breaking up (\u5206\u624b<\/strong> f\u0113n sh\u01d2u). After 4 years of a relationship the two decided to split up. Some netizens doubt<\/a> the news.
