It means <em>people have three to respect: the emperor, father, and teacher<\/em>. According to the saying, a person should greatly honor the emperor who governed the country, the father who raised him, and the teacher who educated him.<\/p>\n<p>Teachers in ancient China received great honor. Teachers in modern China are treated with much respect, as well.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>\u5b66\u751f\u5fc3\u91cc\u5145\u6ee1\u4e86\u5bf9\u8001\u5e08\u7684\u611f\u6fc0\u4e4b\u60c5\u3002<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Xu\u00e9 sh\u0113ng x\u012bn l\u01d0 ch\u014dng m\u01cen le du\u00ec l\u01ceo sh\u012b de g\u01cen j\u012b zh\u012b q\u00edng.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Student\u2019s heart is filled with gratitude to the teacher. \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Teachers\u2019 Day in China (\u6559\u5e08\u8282 ji\u00e0o sh\u012b ji\u00e9) is observed annually on September 10th. It\u2019s a day dedicated to express gratitude to teachers for their hard work and their contributions to the society. On Teachers\u2019 Day students show their respect to their teachers by handing them small gifts (\u793c\u7269 l\u01d0 w\u00f9), such as flowers (\u9c9c\u82b1 xi\u0101n hu\u0101) and greetings cards (\u8d3a\u5361 h\u00e8 k\u01ce). She and her friend spend all afternoon trying to prepare a decent gift.
