The other morning, I was in a taxi and saw that the driver was playing with his cellphone at a stoplight (the stoplights in Shenzhen can last about 90 seconds).\u00a0 My colleague inquired, “\u5f00\u8f66\u8fd8\u53ef\u4ee5\u7092\u80a1<\/strong>?”\u00a0 (As a driver you can play the stock market too?) “\u90a3\u4f60\u600e\u4e48\u4e86\u89e3\u884c\u60c5\u5462<\/strong>?”\u00a0 (Well how do you find out what’s going on in the markets?)\u00a0 The driver responded, “\u6211\u90fd\u7528\u624b\u673a\u770b\u65b0\u95fb\u548c\u884c\u60c5, \u4f46\u662f\u95ee\u9898\u662f\u5b83\u4e48\u7531\u7535\u8111\u5feb<\/strong>” If you ask me, \u6211\u60f3\u8c61\u90fd\u60f3\u8c61\u4e0d\u5230\u66f4\u597d\u7684\u5e7f\u544a\u8bcd<\/strong>. (I couldn’t even imagine better wording for an advertisement).<\/p>\n

\n\u5462 ne – this is used at the end of questions in several ways.\u00a0 here it is used to connote the “but what about” idea
\n\u90fd dou1 – all, even \u6211\u90fd\u6bcf\u5929\u505a\u00a0 – I do it every day (emphasis on the regularity of it)
\n\u6ca1\u6709..adj mei2you3 – “not as _____ as _____” \u6211\u6ca1\u6709\u4f60\u9ad8 “I am not as tall as you”
\nv \u90fd v \u4e0d\u5230 dou1.. bu2dao4 – to not even be able to (verb).\u00a0 \u4f60\u60f3\u8c61\u90fd\u60f3\u8c61\u4e0d\u5230 You can’t even imagine.
