After enjoying some fine \u70b9\u5fc3<\/strong> (dim sum) in the morning, I went to a remote island near Shantou.\u00a0 There I contemplated several things while watching a \u8682\u8681<\/strong> (ant) under an \u5f71\u5b50<\/strong> (shadow) cast by a tree.\u00a0 I also saw some chickens whose legs were bound by plastic strings where the owner had \u6253\u7ed3<\/strong> (tied knots) around their legs.\u00a0 This island truly had a \u5e73\u6de1<\/strong> (mundane\/quaint) lifestyle.\u00a0 Looking at the chicken actually reminded me of the US-China trade balance focused on \u9e21\u722a<\/strong> (chicken feet).\u00a0 I ate some dried \u867e<\/strong> (shrimp) at a tiny restaurant and then hiked up to the top of the island where I could smell \u70e7\u9999<\/strong> (burning incense), hear the \u53d1\u52a8\u673a<\/strong> (engine) of the boat that brought me there, and see \u6e2f\u53e3<\/strong> (harbor) awaiting ships in the distance.<\/p>\n
