It\u2019s a season of vacations, leisure, and entertainment. The warm weather and the light clothes fill people with energy; the shining sun and the long hours of daylight encourage people to be active. But, nothing is perfect. Even summer brings with it some inconvenience (<strong>\u9ebb\u70e6<\/strong> m\u00e1 fan).<\/p>\n<p>Sweat, for example. Sweat is our body\u2019s way of cooling down, and although it\u2019s a natural important process, it is not always so pleasant. It soaks our body, it steeps our clothes. It\u2019s sticky and smelly.<\/p>\n<p>The Chinese nouns for sweat is <strong>\u6c57\u6c34<\/strong> (h\u00e0n shu\u01d0), or just <strong>\u6c57<\/strong> (h\u00e0n). For example:<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u4ed6\u7ad9\u5728\u5916\u9762, \u6c57\u6c34\u987a\u7740\u4ed6\u7684\u8116\u5b50\u6d41\u4e0b\u3002<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>T\u0101 zh\u00e0n z\u00e0i w\u00e0i mi\u00e0n, h\u00e0n shu\u01d0 shun zhe t\u0101 de b\u00f3 z\u01d0 li\u00fa xi\u00e0.<\/p>\n<p><em>He was standing outside, sweat running down his neck.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u5065\u8eab\u623f\u91cc\uff0c\u670d\u52a1\u5458\u9012\u7ed9\u4eba\u4eec\u6bdb\u5dfe\uff0c\u8ba9\u4ed6\u4eec\u64e6\u64e6\u6ee1\u8138\u7684\u6c57\u6c34\u3002<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ji\u00e0n sh\u0113n f\u00e1ng l\u01d0, f\u00fa w\u00f9 yu\u00e1n d\u00ec j\u01d0 r\u00e9n men m\u00e1o j\u012bn, r\u00e0ng t\u0101 men c\u0101 m\u01cen li\u01cen de h\u00e0n shu\u01d0.<\/p>\n<p><em>In the gym, the attendant handed people towels to wipe the sweat from their faces.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u519c\u6c11\u7684\u8eab\u4e0a\u6d41\u6dcc\u7740\u6c57\u6c34\u3002<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>N\u00f3ng m\u00edn de sh\u0113n shang li\u00fa tang zhe h\u00e0n shu\u01d0.<\/p>\n<p><em>Sweat was dripping from the farmer\u2019s body.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u5929\u624d\u662f\u767e\u5206\u4e4b\u4e5d\u5341\u4e5d\u7684\u6c57\u6c34\u548c\u767e\u5206\u4e4b\u4e00\u7684\u7075\u611f\u3002<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ti\u0101n c\u00e1i sh\u00ec b\u01cei f\u0113n zh\u012b ji\u01d4 sh\u00ed ji\u01d4 de h\u00e0n shu\u01d0 h\u00e9 b\u01cei f\u0113n zh\u012b y\u012b de l\u00edng g\u01cen.<\/p>\n<p><em>Genius is ninety-nine percent of sweat and one percent of inspiration.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Chinese verbs <em>to sweat<\/em> are two-characters-verbs, assembled of a verb plus object. One of them consists of a related liquid verb: <strong>\u6d41<\/strong> (li\u00fa), meaning <em>to flow<\/em>. The other verbs share the meaning of <em>coming out<\/em>, <em>emitting<\/em>: <strong>\u51fa<\/strong> (ch\u016b, <em>to come out<\/em>); <strong>\u5192<\/strong> (m\u00e0o, <em>to give off<\/em>). Heat stroke (<strong>\u4e2d\u6691<\/strong> zh\u00f2ng sh\u01d4), also known as sunstroke, is a serious form of heat injury. They buzz, they bite, they spread diseases; they are tiny but very irritating. <strong>\u868a\u5b50<\/strong> (w\u00e9n zi) is the Chinese noun for <em>mosquito<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u590f\u5929\u868a\u5b50\u591a\u4e86\u3002\u6c14\u6e29\u9010\u6e10\u5347\u9ad8\uff0c\u868a\u5b50\u5f00\u59cb\u8822\u8822\u6b32\u52a8\u3002\u6ca1\u6709\u4eba\u60f3\u88ab\u868a\u5b50\u53ee\u4e86\u3002\u868a\u5b50\u53ee\u54ac\u597d\u75d2\u554a\u3002\u800c\u4e14\uff0c\u868a\u5b50\u53ef\u4ee5\u4f20\u64ad\u75c5\u539f\u4f53\u3002\u5e94\u8be5\u91c7\u53d6\u4e00\u4e9b\u9632\u868a\u63aa\u65bd\uff1a\u868a\u5e10\uff0c\u868a\u9999\uff0c\u907f\u868a\u5242\uff0c\u7b49\u7b49\u3002<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Xi\u00e0 ti\u0101n w\u00e9n zi du\u014d le. As the temperature gradually increased, the mosquitos are ready to take action. No one wants to be bitten by a mosquito. A mosquito bite is quite itchy. Moreover, mosquitos can transmit pathogens. One should take some anti-mosquito measures: mosquito nets, mosquito coils, mosquito repellent, etc.\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In spite of all of these inconveniences, I wish you all Happy Summer!
