The other day, I wanted to go buy a sledgehammer.\u00a0 I hopped in a cab to my local \u5efa\u6750\u57ce<\/strong> (construction material city), made my way past the \u5730\u677f<\/strong> (flooring) and the \u5730\u6bef<\/strong> (carpeting) until I got to the \u4e94\u91d1<\/strong> (hardware) section.\u00a0 I set aside \u87ba\u4e1d\u5200<\/strong> (screwdrivers) and smaller \u9524\u5b50<\/strong> (hammers) until I relented and just asked for a hammer.\u00a0 “What kind?” they wanted to know.\u00a0 I said I wanted the kind that you’d use to \u62c6\u697c<\/strong> (tear down a building).\u00a0 They slid a dense metal block onto a pole and sealed it with a \u9489\u5b50<\/strong> (nail).\u00a0 After that, they measured it with a \u5c3a\u5b50<\/strong> (ruler) and I picked up a \u5377\u5c3a<\/strong> (tape measure) for some of my future household projects.<\/p>\n
