How time flies! This year, of course, the games are being hosted by <strong>London\u00a0<\/strong>(\u4f26\u6566 &#8211; l\u00fan d\u016bn). Many <strong>athletes\u00a0<\/strong>(\u8fd0\u52a8\u5458 &#8211; y\u00f9n d\u00f2ng yu\u00e1n) from all over the world will take part in this incredible event that comes but once every four years. They&#8217;ve put their blood, sweat, and tears into years of grueling training just for this chance to prove that they are the best in the world. They have traveled many miles, and so has the <strong>Olympic torch<\/strong> (\u5965\u8fd0\u706b\u70ac &#8211;\u00a0\u00c0o y\u00f9n hu\u01d2 j\u00f9), the most famous symbol of the Games.<\/p>\n<p>This great tradition dates all the way back to the summer of 1896, when the first MODERN Olympic games were held in <strong>Athens\u00a0<\/strong>(\u96c5\u5178 &#8211;\u00a0y\u01ce di\u01cen). The <strong>Opening Ceremony\u00a0<\/strong>(\u5f00\u5e55\u5f0f &#8211;\u00a0k\u0101i m\u00f9 sh\u00ec) was last night, and it was quite impressive to say the least. So happy viewing, everyone!
