Many years ago, this little town was an important stop on the <strong>Tea Horse Road<\/strong> (\u8336\u9a6c\u9053 &#8211; ch\u00e1 m\u01ce d\u00e0o). Along this road, mules would take tea and other goods from southwest China to Tibet and India. These days, Ping Le attracts Chinese tourists from the big cities who want to enjoy some nostalgia by visiting a small town.
