{"id":86,"date":"2009-04-28T01:36:32","date_gmt":"2009-04-28T05:36:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/chinese\/?p=86"},"modified":"2009-04-28T01:36:32","modified_gmt":"2009-04-28T05:36:32","slug":"food-choices","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/chinese\/food-choices\/","title":{"rendered":"Food Choices"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Around the office, we have all kinds of restaurants\u3002\u00a0 I regularly get delivery from a <strong>\u8d8a\u5357\u6cb3\u7c89<\/strong> (Pho) place near the office, but on occasion I&#8217;ve sampled cuisine from a place selling <strong>\u58a8\u897f\u54e5\u83dc<\/strong> (Mexican food) which isn&#8217;t half-bad.\u00a0 Yesterday, I tried some noodles at a place which sold <strong>\u9655\u897f\u83dc<\/strong> (Shaanxi food)- it was said to be spicy and hot, but I found it wasn&#8217;t nearly as hot as advertised.\u00a0 Another favorite is this place nearby which sells <strong>\u6c34\u997a<\/strong> (dumplings) &#8211; I particularly enjoy the duck blood soup (more about this in the future).\u00a0 <strong>\u5ddd\u83dc<\/strong> (Sichuan food) includes a lot of my favorite dishes, while <strong>\u5bff\u53f8<\/strong> (sushi) is enjoyable if the fish is fresh.\u00a0 I know of one place which flies its fish in daily from the Tsukiji market in Tokyo- our world is flat indeed!\u00a0 Nearby you can get pretty stunning <strong>\u5370\u5ea6\u83dc<\/strong> (Indian food) with all the right spices- makes me think of home, oddly enough.\u00a0 For those looking to try something new, you can always grab some <strong>\u9a74\u8089<\/strong> (donkey meat) with noodles.\u00a0 A Japanese <strong>\u62c9\u9762<\/strong> (ramen noodle) place was where I saw one of the biggest opportunities for service improvement.\u00a0 The service chain was not consistent, to put it one way (this is for a coming entry).\u00a0 Lastly, a place where I enjoyed one of my first meals at this job was at a <strong>\u97e9\u56fd\u62cc\u996d<\/strong> (Korean restaurant.\u00a0 Cheap, quick, and nearly authentic.\u00a0 Stay tuned, readers!\u00a0 What are your favorite kinds of restaurants?\u00a0 I&#8217;ll see if I can find one in Beijing and post up the translations of their food!<\/p>\n<p>\u8d8a\u5357\u6cb3\u7c89\u00a0 yue4nan2he2fen3 &#8211;
