Hello readers!<\/p>\n

Last Friday, Saturday, and Sunday marked the celebration of \u56fd\u9645\u52b3\u52a8\u8282<\/strong> (International Labor Day).\u00a0 In China, it’s a legally-mandated \u8282\u65e5<\/strong> (holiday) where people in nearly all non-essential industries are permitted to \u653e\u5047 <\/strong>(take vacation).\u00a0 The general trend is that people go someplace outside of the city to \u5ea6\u5047<\/strong> (spend the holiday).\u00a0 As for me, \u54ea\u91cc\u90fd\u6ca1\u6709\u53bb<\/strong> (I didn’t go anywhere).\u00a0 This was my first time being someplace where people celebrate this holiday, and people would ask me if people in America\u00a0 \u8fc7\u8282<\/strong> (celebrate the holiday) or not.\u00a0 The only sticking point about this holiday is that two of the “vacation days” are moved on to the \u5468\u672b<\/strong> (weekend).\u00a0 It would have been great if Monday were also a holiday- legitimately, it is \u9752\u5e74\u8282<\/strong> \uff08youth holiday), but alas not this time.<\/p>\n
