Hvilken festival skal du til i \u00e5r? <\/b>(Which festival are you going to this year?) For many danskere<\/b>, Summer is Festival Season. A festival<\/b> means musik<\/b>, venskab<\/b> (friendship), k\u00e6rlighed <\/b>(love), god stemning<\/b> (good atmosphere), hygge<\/b> and lots of \u00f8l<\/b>. Summer Denmark is peppered with festivals, from tiny island get-togethers such as Tun\u00f8 Festival<\/b>, to children-friendly festivals such as Langeland Festival<\/b>, to \u201dmonsters\u201d such as Roskilde Festival<\/b>. \ud83d\ude42 This month, I once again had the chance to volunteer in Roskilde. In case you would like to reserve four days of 2016 to h\u00f8re en masse god musik<\/b> (listen to a lot of good music), m\u00f8de mange nye mennesker<\/b> (\u201dmeet many new persons\u201d, get to know a lot of new people), have det sjovt<\/b> (have fun) and tale dansk<\/b> (speak Danish), her are a few points to consider:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Roskilde Festival er meget popul\u00e6r. <\/b>(RF is very popular.) You should buy your tickets early \u2013 or try to find a group that\u2019ll have you as a frivillig <\/b>(volunteer).<\/p>\n

\u2022 Roskilde Festival is non-profit. This year, 100 000 people bought a billet <\/b>(ticket) \u2013 while 30 000 worked for free and got gratis adgang<\/b> (free entrance). People are there to help, to be together. You can feel it! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a lot of nice art at Roskilde.<\/p><\/div>\n

\u2022 Most guests are in their 20\u2019ies, but some are older, and some are younger. Der er ingen aldersgr\u00e6nse!<\/b> (There is no age limit!) But if you\u2019re 50+, you might consider finding a Roskilde ho(s)tel instead of sleeping in a telt <\/b>(tent) such as most festivalg\u00e6ngere<\/b> (festival participants, literally \u2019festival walkers\u2019) do\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2022 Even the meteorologists can\u2019t predict det danske vejr<\/b> (the Danish weather). Be prepared for everything from dry mudder<\/b> (mud) to beer splash. Husk solbriller!<\/b> (Remember your sunglasses!) This year was so hot that many people had to float around in s\u00f8en<\/b> (the lake) to survive\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2022 Roskilde Festival er stor <\/b>(big). Be prepared for a lot of walking, a lot of people, and a lot of joy\/noise. There is no point in pre-planning too much. F\u00f8lg str\u00f8mmen!<\/b> (Follow the \u201dflow\u201d, literally \u2019stream\u2019!)<\/p>\n

This year, some of de store navne<\/b> (the \u201dbig names\u201d) in Roskilde were Pharell Williams, Kendrick Lamar, Nicki Minaj and Paul McCartney.
